“I don’t want my ignorance to rub off of him,” Marie spoke to Roarke and Roarke alone even though Sebastian would be able to hear her just fine. “Fine. I’ll sit down.” Stubborn and refusing to sit beside Sebastian, Marie decided to take the spot she wanted, so she moved and sat down in Roarke’s lap. She made herself comfortable across his lap and placed an arm over his shoulders. “This counts as sitting down and you should have seen it coming, Roar.”
Marie picked up a menu even though she knew everything on it already and started to flip through it. “You’re not allowed to bring up the engagement in my presence. Sir Stick Up His Ass over there told me I’m supposed to completely forget about it and try to get to know him without that pressure.”
