The purple accents had been what caught his eye, honestly. He and Julian had stepped into the small shop, anticipating buying a few things. He had looked around for a few minutes and found the coin. The shopkeeper had told him that the coin was wonderfully preserved and he could see that. He'd known he had found her gift then.
"I'm glad you like it," he said with a smile. He was quite pleased with himself. He'd been worried that the gift would seem weird or odd to her. He appreciated things with history and he was glad that she did too. "It looks great on you, troub." He meant it too. It looked spectacular on her.
And just like that things were back to normal. Which was comfortable at least, even if he was fond of that look she had gotten in her eye. "Well, I had reached my carry on limit and the one I found you was picky and only wanted first class. So you have to make do with the coin. I'm sorry."
