He nodded at her words. He had known since his uncle had failed to produce a heir that he would be a leader some day. He looked forward to that day. He had been bred for leadership, and he accepted that. However, carving his own path was something he had never thought about. He was fine following tradition, or at least he had thought he would. He let out a small chuckle. "You know how it is. It isn't easy to follow your own path when your path has already been chosen."
At her words, he felt a surge of confidence. It was nice to know that people had confidence in him. He knew he was going to help restore the proper order, but he was glad to hear that at least someone else felt his confidence, as well. "You will be part of that world, Ophelia. I know your betrothed is not.....desirable to you, but you will have your place." He would make sure of it.
He cleared his throat after he spoke, uncomfortable with how much honesty they had displayed throughout their conversation. He sat awkwardly, his hands folded in his lap.
