Re: Mik and Ophelia
She was expected to purify the line, just as he was expected to keep his line pure, as well. As such, he was now going to be betrothed to his own cousin. It seemed that they had much in common. It was typical for pure blood children. Bloodlines had become so tainted over the years that the purification of blood was a task that they all had to shoulder. Not that he minded that part; he could not imagine marrying someone with tainted blood himself. But that person being his cousin? That was a different story. "It is important to preserve the old lines," he said in response, his mind flashing over his own situation.
"It is nice when something fun can become something lucrative," he said. "It's a gift to be able to use something you are passionate about as a means to an end." Mikael didn't consider himself a superbly talented person. He supposed that he had a decent voice, but he did not sing very often and would never consider it a way to earn income. His plans were set, and it did not involve artistic endevours, so he could appreciate that Ophelia could use that.
"I like fruit as well," he said, taking another small bite of the pie. "It is always so refreshing, especially after a heavy meal." It was surprising to him that he small talk, while not coming easily to him, was at least not forced. But then again, he had always been at ease with Ophelia.
