Re: Mik and Ophelia
Good partner. Those words struck him as odd, because if he were forced to marry, of course someone like Serafina would be a prime example. She was of good blood, confident, and would look good on his arm. But, even despite that, there seemed to be something fundamentally wrong with marrying his cousins. His kind were no strangers to close familial ties, but Serafina? He was torn between disagreeing and following his family's wishes, something he had yet to do in his life.
"Ahh, yes. Let's hope for a good partner. One who can assist me in continuing the line." Or keeping it in the same line, he thought. Immediately he chastised himself for thinking along those lines. Father and Uncle were well versed in doing what was needed for the family. It was an awful position he was in.
In his family, females did not need savings, but still the fact that she was putting her talent and mind to use was admirable. "Well, that's good. You will have to give me a tour of some more of your works soon. Have you done many over break?" He watched as she did a faint glance at her brother, and as she did his eyes followed her. However, he did not feel it was his place to comment, and let the moment go. If she felt like confiding my, she would. Or she would not. It was the same to him.
