Wan went to protest the extra cake, but it was too late by the time it was cut. He really didn't think he could eat all that. And with the layers, he'd been hoping to try just a little of each since Gareth had said he'd used different kinds of chocolate for them. Well for most of them. Unless the white layer was white chocolate? That was a thing, right?
He appreciated the gesture and just a few months ago, had the offer been made, he probably would have glutted himself on it. But having had the privilege of being able to eat fairly regularly, he'd found he didn't really need to eat that much to be full. And sweets even more so. Too much and his stomach roiled in protest.
But objecting more when Gareth had gone through all that effort to make a variety for him to try, and Gracie was so enthusiastic about it... that would be really rude. He'd just have to force himself to eat it all and hope that the didn't get sick from it.
Wan smiled, ducking his head to hide his worried expression as he set his fork to the cake and took the first bite. "It's good! Thank you! The white is vanilla, right?"
