Re: Private to Sera
Serafina frowned as she slipped into the train car that her cousin had decided upon. The summer could not have ended any sooner. Being around her father and uncle so often left her with a bitter taste in her mouth. They believed a proper woman should be quite and subservient, but Serafina was far from it. She was naturally bold and often had to hide that while at home.
What had been even harder was the constant talk of her future once school ended. No matter the choice she made, marriage after school was imminent. But there were two options. One was a man back in Russia, the choice her father and uncle preferred because he was wealthy and powerful, but her aunt had managed to convince them that a union between her and Mikael would also be a good one. Their blood would be strong and pure from it and think of all the children.
The thought of children terrified her.
Walking inside, she sat down across from Mikael and really looked at him. He was basically her brother and while she loved him, the idea of marriage with him was strange. "What are you reading?"
