The room in which his sister was now locked was a good size, but Hunter knew just how stifling it could feel. That knowledge made it all the worse, when he had to stand his ground and not let Fawn's pleading get to him.
"Ju... just try to lay down and go to sleep, Fawn," he tried to soothe her, while keeping the panic and fear out of his voice. Hunter pressed his back against the door, his wand out in front of him. Barely a sliver of light found it's way down into the basement, but he could still see the faint glow from the door to the rest of the house. It wavered as his tears got in the way, and he roughly brushed them clear with his sleeve.
"Just go to sleep Fawn. It will all be fine in the morning."
