"Well, I grew up there," Brinley chuckled, "You find ways to keep yourself entertained otherwise you go native." Even if she was born and raised there, a lot of things Muggles did to amuse themselves could be a bit on the weird side. And considering her father was a Muggle, Brinley was fairly well-versed in both worlds. She nodded in agreement to Kea's talking about taking the house cup. If there was something that Gryffindor was good at doing, it was winning quidditch matches.
Brinley admired Kea's enthusiasm for the competition though. It wasn't over the top like Selphie's could be, but there was a determination there. Probably one of the various reasons why Brinley often found herself staring at Kea a little too long or thinking about her when she wasn't around. "I thought it would be interesting or at least let me see what the fuss was all about," Brinley said in her defense, "You know how sometimes you can make judgements about something or someone and you don't really have a base for it? I didn't want to be that person. So I tried annnnnnnd it's a bunch of shit."
She could now say she'd given it a try and only found herself feeling solidified in her low opinion of the very strange and unreliable form of magic.
When the waitress arrived, she ordered a mint and caramel milkshake. The server headed off to place the order and Brinley continued, "Lesson learned though, and now I know I don't have some crazy gift for it. Saves me the trouble of scrounging around money for a crystal ball and an excessive amount of tea. I don't even like tea all that much."
