"We can only hope that McGucket finally decided to call it quits," Brinley commented regarding their Muggle Studies teacher, "Bless his heart, but his information was always a bit . . . outdated." She remembered him talking about cell phones and it took her a while to realize he was talking about cell phones back in the 90s, which was pretty much the stone age when it came to technology.
She shook her own head at Kea's comment about being an auror, "It sounds like fun and games, but . . . I dunno. I guess I'm good at thinking of this stuff but it's not something that holds my interest as much. I know aurors get to travel a lot, and yeah, I want to travel, but I want to enjoy that traveling, not, you know, just stay in town long enough to arrest a dark wizard and then head out." She didn't share much of what she wanted for the future often. Brinley's desire to becoming a diplomat was something she never announced to anyone, not even Keara. Keara only knew that Brinley wanted to travel somewhere else. Most people, if they knew that, just assumed that Brinley was hoping to be some big quidditch star and she could do that while doing something she was exceptionally good at.
The cherry stem bow fell upon the table and caused an eyebrow to raise. Brinley didn't comment and only chuckled a bit, continuing to groan about all the testing that they had to endure.
"Apparently not. I just hate it. All this testing. How is that actually going to show we know anything other than to take a test?" Brinley frowned deeply, "And tests are just another piece of paper my dad can look at and wonder why I didn't do so hot in some areas."
