Occasionally Brinley found herself looking at Keara (regardless of the face the metamorphmagus wore) in a way that made it hard for Brinley to think of things to say. She didn't outright avoid Keara the way she had with others, but it was often a lot of talking for Keara and little for Brinley. The pink-haired keeper wasn't quite at that point, but a summer away and then seeing Keara reminded her of the occasional crush that went hot and cold regularly did bring some thoughts to mind. Ones that had Brinley force the smile on her face when she saw the girl joining her.
"Well, nothing too new," Brinley finally did say when the other girl sat down across from her. Her position didn't shift, but only because Brinley made a conscious decision not to. Her eyes immediately went to the menu and she said, "But I rarely stray from what I always get. And whatever is new doesn't look as appealing as trying something familiar, right?"
There was a slight laugh with it and Brinley ran her fingers through her pixie-cut pink hair before asking, "So, what have you been up to this summer? Keeping your sanity?"
