Going in hoping that someone your dad picked for you because it was the best for genetics and also the family bank account isn't going to lead to love. If we go into this realistically, we save ourselves disappointment in the future. Bella and I, at best, will end up friends."
And that's what he concluded. He wasn't going to try to coax Bella into his bed, though the thought had amused him. But the fact he had to marry the girl and would deal with any resentment she held toward him for however long one outlived the other was a hassle he didn't want to deal with.
"She's not Elizabeth Bennett and I'm not Darcy. This isn't going to start off with me saying she's not handsome enough to tempt me and then declaring my undying love for her."
