"If I was avoiding you, I would not be sitting with you." She tried to rationalize, but he was partially right and she was distancing herself. "And I have not cut you off of anything." She placed her pencil down on her sketchbook and honestly looked at him. He was annoyed at this. Was it because no one ever backed off, or did he actually care that she was backing away from the situation?
"I know that marriage doesn't automatically mean love, but you can't blame me for hoping that my friend gets some of that in her life. But I guess you can both find love outside of duty then. It wouldn't be fair not to try." But would it be fair to do so to the other person though?
