He was a lot heartier than most of them, and he had his wand and a few more years of magic training, though it was mostly harmless in the long run. Still, if he could sedate an angry hippogriff then he could deal with a Death Eater. Maybe. Probably.
Derek heard Stiles go down and turned around, grabbing him and all but dragging him another few feet. "Are you hurt?" he asked, glancing around to try and find a way out of here.
Shit. Stiles was right. Derek hated when Stiles was right. "If you have any suggestions on where we can go, please speak up. For now." He dropped Stiles in between two tents. "Watch that way," he said, pointing behind Stiles, "and try to figure out where we can go. I'll keep an eye out this way. If anything comes down your way, let me know in time to kill it." He turned back to the back entrance of the path and stuck his head out, desperately trying to think of what to do, where to go, and trying not to think about the fact that he was barely older than some of these people, he shouldn't have to deal with this and be responsible for their lives.
