Bailey had won a fair bit of money, as if there was much doubt so far as she was concerned. However as it drew close to midnight, Bailey decided that it made sense to leave the card game before everyone she was playing against got even deeper into their cups. She might be a gambler and card shark, but she wasn't stupid. Losing money mixed with alcohol would make her opponents increasingly unpredictable. And unpredictable was dangerous.
Bailey wasn't legal to use magic yet... Even if she could cry self-defense, she didn't want to broadcast her less than legal activities to her parents, avoiding attracting the attention of the BMA for underage magic use seemed like a good idea.
All of this meant that Bailey was eager to put some distance between herself and the backroom of the bar she'd been playing in, if she was to be honest. Cutting across the park seemed like the best route home. It was all well and good but for the fact that it was more than a little dark out. Bailey didn't want to pull out a light though. There was starlight - not much but it was there - and light from buildings around the park. Still, it didn't amount to a lot of light, and so it wasn't completely surprising when Bailey tripped over something.
"Bugger." A quick assessment of her current situation revealed it was in fact not someTHING but in fact someONE that Bailey had tripped over. "Sorry... so sorry." She quickly apologized.
