Tracey twirled the spoon around in her drink, thinking to herself about how she'd forgotten to ask them to to add cinnamon and some spice to the drink - she preferred it that way, with a little something extra there. She had always enjoyed the extra bit of something cinnamon added to coffee, but as she began to enjoy espresso more and more, she liked the spiciness that cinnamon brought out in its flavour. She took another sip, a soft sigh escaping her lips as she finally started to relax a little. Lia's presence soother her a little, in a very odd way. At first, when Lia had found out why she'd come back so battered and with those periodic nightmares - it had been tense. But over time the girls had become close because of it and it was therapeutic for Tracey to at least have someone to talk to that wasn't some sort of game and had no end to it. Lia was just someone to talk to. No motive. Necessarily.
"Understatement." She said with a soft chuckle."If I'm lucky I can just stay out tonight, tomorrow, and Saturday and quietly remove my bags Sunday. Further conversation not needed." She didn't hate her family, though she was sure most people thought the emotion was hate. No, she resented them. Okay, if one was being honest she probably had evolved to hate her brother, but it was so much more complicated than hate. She had to smile at the sight of her friend curling up into the chair - Tracey had become quite tall over the years and she wasn't sure she was still always used to it, it had certainly been a nice weapon (especially when it came to getting her way with boys, legs have a nice advantage) - but she did sort of miss the cosiness of being small enough to curl up into places.
"Been up to anything interesting?" She said, the question lingering in her tone of voice.
