James watched her, and sure there was a fear to him about such a long commitment; James was nothing if not a free man, who enjoyed simply living his life. Yet, he was certain living with her, being with her, would not change that. Pushing to his feet, he slid his hands up along her body, cupped her cheeks in his hands and he laughed at her ring comment. He pressed his lips to hers, kissing her longingly a moment, before pulling back.
"Sera, I wouldn't ask you to marry me if I ever thought divorce was an option. And I don't give up on those that I care about, that I love. I shouldn't love you, not so soon, not so fast, and yet I do. That tells me this is something special, something more, and I have no intention of ever backing off on that."
He then kissed her lips again, holding her close to him, before he drew away, "We should do it immediately, head off your father at the pass, before he has a chance to overturn this. We can worry about a real wedding later..."
