Who: Misha and Bella
Where: A small Italian restaurant in Mixed Marble
When: Dec. 26, 5:30pm
What: A slightly belated birthday dinner
Rating: TBD

Christmas had been a nice break from the stresses of school, something that Misha had thought he was done with, now that he had graduated. As it turned out, grading papers was nearly as hard as writing them, and took twice as long. Although most of his siblings were also at Hogwarts, the younger ones had climbed up on top of him as if they hadn't seen him in years, and both of his parents had joking complained that he didn't have an owl just for the fun of it. It was home, and he'd missed it.

Misha knew that he was taking a big risk meeting Bella for a dinner; a non-date was how she had described it, but the kisses they had shared told him otherwise. He still had no idea what it was about her that made him want to take the risk, but here he was, waiting in front of a nice restaurant, a bouquet of pink roses in his hand. Harry would kill him if she found out, along with his mother, and likely his sister. Misha crossed his fingers hoping that the place was far enough out of the way that they wouldn't run into anyone they knew.

Bella hadn’t wanted to leave Apollo and Artemis at the Redferns, not trusting anyone but Ash, but she also knew she couldn’t take them on the non-date that Misha had planned. The location of the restaurant meant that there could possibly be muggles there which meant no magical creatures. So Bella ended up handing them over to Lyra to babysit which meant that the Ravenclaw was arriving late to the restaurant by about ten minutes.

Dressed nicely, Bella stepped out of the taxi after paying and spotting Misha right away. Her cheeks were flushed with worry and guilt as she moved over to him. “I’m so sorry that I’m late, Misha,” Bella said looking guilty, “I couldn’t leave Apollo and Artemis at the Redferns so I took them over to Lyra’s. I didn’t take in count the traffic. I’m so glad you waited.” She really was. Bella had become excited at the thought of having a non-date with Misha even if it really was a date.

Five minutes early, Misha squirmed as each minute ticked by. He would have done anything for a tempus charm, but in such a mixed area, his wand needed to stay safety tucked into his suit jacket. By five forty the smile on his face had faded slightly but Misha hadn't given up hope. When Bella finally emerged from a cab, his breath caught, both from relief and expectation.

"It's fine, don't worry about it," he said, unable to feel even the slightest bit of frustration at her delay. Misha lent her a hand to step up the curb, offering her the small bouquet once she was properly at his side.

"Happy birthday. Well, belated birthday," he grinned.

"I'm sure these are nothing compared to what you're used to, but they're home grown. My mom keeps a small greenhouse out the back of our place."
