Narissa and Violet- probably not too high
Compliments brought a sense of discomfort to Violet, so she hated them. Her cousin often complimented her and she knew that Narissa wasn't him. She wasn't going to hurt her or use her the way he had. But it didn't stop her immediate reaction to be looking down and away and feeling that bad feeling in her stomach. She already felt out of place enough and knew Narissa wasn't looking to bring up bad memories. But some things couldn't be fixed so easily and Violet had been resistant to her therapist.
When she did look up, she noticed the eyes of an older woman and her husband. They whispered to each other and something about the way they looked only deteriorated Violet's already frail confidence even more. Instinctively, she reached out to take Narissa's hand.
