If there was one thing Lily hated, it was the way she had to put up an act at school. Her family's opinions on blood status were known and her classmates knew she had very little use for anyone below her social status, but Enoch Snow had also taught his only daughter that bringing too much attention to their beliefs could be detrimental. And so, at school she had to watch what she said. It was why she especially relished moments such as this, when she could hear pure truth coming from the mouth of someone who would follow through and not just talk.
"Down is never a choice for me, Professor. There is nowhere to go but up, by whatever means necessary," Lily retorted, passing through the doorway and into the sitting room. It doubled as a library, one of many in the home, and was larger than many of her classmates houses.
"My father and Aiden are seeing to it that I have the skills I need to make good on the promises my family has made."
Some of these promises Lily knew of in detail, but others she knew would be kept from her until she was ready. Her father didn't believe in sharing too much information.
"Can I get you a drink? Mother brought back some amazing elf wine from her last visit to France.""
