It is often difficult for me to find reason to believe this school has our best interests at heart. Our people are on the precipice of war, and we're forced to sit back and wait while the 'adults' are slaughtered in droves, perpetually waiting, and waiting, and waiting for the inevitability of our own meager destruction. Yes, a sense of normalcy must continue to be had, but to completely ignore the situation outside of these walls is ignorant and childish.

More class time should be devoted to Defense Against the Dark Arts, and that should include a true teaching and understanding of the Dark Arts themselves, as well as a focus on Magic History and the last Death Eaters. Understanding our enemy is imperative to the survival of our people.

	I'd bet my trust fund that most of the students at this school have something like an 85% knowledge base on last time that revolves aroud whispers, rumours, and personal anecdotes. Knowing anything more would require anyone to actually talk bad events instead of just screaming he said she said opinions and fear mongering over them. Because that's our 'education'. 	Which leads to an over simplified version of the events and an even more remarkable amount of misinformation, which in turn leads to a destructive sense of what must be done, and understanding. Our education makes us slaves to an oversimplified past, and as such, tries to force a black and white world view upon us, which makes preparation nearly impossible. 	I think you make a lot of good pints. we need to be ready for the chance that this war becomes our's. We need to have a balance of both normalcy and lessons for the future. ~~Though I'm still not sure I'm a fan of the idea of learning the dark arts.~~ (Reply to this) (Thread)
