So who all can actually read this, then?

And are we going to be told how these things work or is that another little mysterious fucking mystery that only the management is privy to?

Attention all;

Make sure y'all get yourselves one of those little leather-bound books sittin' in the cookhouse – you'll know it's yours 'cause your name'll be stamped right there in the bottom corner.

These little books ain't something to write your fondest dreams of one day owning a whole pack of fluffy rabbits and a farm. 'Less you're looking to share that. What you write on those pages shows up in everyone else's book, they can read it as if they wrote it themselves. Management says, if you got a need to keep it private, title your page with the folk you want to see it. Underline the names, and start writing below.

We don't care so much if you ain't got any intention of using it, just keep it on you. It's a means to communicate. We get folk going AWOL again, this might just be a way of keeping in touch, might save us the trouble of getting ourselves beat up again.

We'd like to remind you all – this don't mean you've got all day to be writing away, you've still got plenty else to be doing. Don't let our visitors see you scrawling away neither.

Gotta question? Come see me.

Turns out, these fancy garter belts are mighty comfy to wear. Don't know what you ladies are complaining about, saying they ain't.

I'm feeling all kinds of svelte.

Please disregard the previous journal entry. It was not written by me, but rather someone with an astoundingly juvenile mind. It is also precisely not what these journals were intended for. It does, however, highlight the importance of keeping your journal close.

Am I doing this right?

I suck at writing, not sure if this will work out for me or not.
