The finding part had been a snap. The procuring part had been less easy, but she'd eventually worked something out with the nice gentlemen in charge of the operation. Or in charge of the selling alcohol part of the operation, at any rate. Juliet didn't really think she'd have any problem getting along here, really. She could find things she needed if she got desperate, and when she had free moments, she could always find lost money. Or lost jewelry, or lost ... anything to return to its owner. Or to sell herself, depending on the situation. It was a useful skill, and she'd used it much the same way at home. Granted, at home she'd also been employed to find people -- other mutants -- but she didn't think that would be a thing here. She had found one other mutant here, though he wasn't anyone she recognized from home. With the bottles tucked carefully into a paper bag, a crumple of newspaper stuck between them so they wouldn't clink together, Juliet wove her way through the carnival's back lot. While she'd spent a fair portion of her day on her various finding quests -- the alcohol wasn't the only think she'd found -- she had made sure to do her required job. She didn't think she wanted to get in trouble this early on. Or ever, really, but especially this early on. She'd made sure Star was taken care of, and that her costume was all set, and she'd thought really hard about how to fake it in the arena. Maybe she'd let him run around and pretend she was directing him. Or maybe he'd see the jumps and things and just ... remember how to do tricks and she'd stand there and look pretty. Shaking off her thoughts, Juliet made her way to Grey's trailer. She hesitated briefly outside before she shrugged to herself and rapped on the door with her free hand. |
