"Of course you don't," Klaus intoned sympathetically. While he had been less than sympathetic after she had killed the twelve witches in order to save Bonnie, Klaus knew how heavily that act had impacted Caroline. He knew she was a good person and, as such, she didn't wanted to hurt anyone. Caroline had been devastated over killing those witches. He had rebuffed her at the time, throwing her own words back at her spitefully. This time, however, Klaus wasn't hurt or frustrated. He hadn't just finished digging twelve graves and and burying the last shot to keep Silas at bay. Without his own anger to blind him, Klaus was willing to offer more help to the blonde vampire.
"You just have to learn how to control yourself," Klaus offered. "Stefan never could. You can't be afraid of it." If there was anyone Caroline knew who could relate to that sort of thing, it was regrettably Damon Salvatore. While Klaus disliked both brothers, he had to admit that at the very least, Damon was capable of keeping it together when it came to understanding how to live life as a vampire rather than just brooding over it all. Alas, Damon was nowhere to be found and Klaus was Caroline's only option for learning how to be a real vampire. "I can help with that. Compulsion is only half the battle."
He stepped forward, reaching out to drape an arm across her shoulders. It was the test the waters more than anything, to see if she would shrug him off and remind him to keep his distance, or if she was overwhelmed enough by the change in scenery to just go with it and allow him the invasion of personal space. "The rest is wise choices," he commented. "You have to pick the right person," Klaus said, the words clearly suggestive, as he was once again reminding her of his feelings and intentions toward her.
