Grey understood paranoia, she'd become a near shut in lately, afraid that they'd accidentally break some rule and have to face the consequences. She hated that, feeling like she was being watched whenever she left the house. It didn't feel the same here, but now he mentioned it perhaps he was right. She needed to be more careful, watch what she said. "Fair point," she agreed. Really who knew what was really going on, what the deal with the Management was. "It is," she said, it couldn't have been anyone else's, there were no other wolves, no other people she got that close to. She smelt of him, Cal, not the wolf and she clung to that, arms wrapping round her knees. It was all she had, and christ she felt so utterly pathetic.
"It's still basically selling people," she pointed out. It wasn't his fault, none of them had asked for these jobs, just been given them and really hers could have been so much worse. The mention of variety shows at Christmas interested her, he didn't look that old, but truth was she had no idea how ageing worked with wolves. Cal seemed to be ageing normally and it wasn't as if she'd had anyone to ask back home. It seemed a slightly old fashioned thing though, but then even the 70s probably had stuff like that, didn't it? She listen as he outlined his plan, it was helpful actually, because if she was going to do this she was going to do it properly and his input really was helpful, because all she'd thought about how she was going bind herself, do her hair all the outward stuff. "Sounds good," she admitted. "Something I can work with. You could add how I didn't want to chose between being male or female, so now I'm both." It wasn't that far off the truth actually. Male/female it was all so pointless. "I haven't got a clue what I'm gonna do, act wise, other than stand there looking feminine on one side and masculine on the other. It's not much of an act though, is it?"
"I'm not sure any of us belong here full stop," she said, watching him, he seemed to be relaxed. His words were less clipped now, less precise. "Excellent. We have to play along for now, don't we? Until we can work out what the fuck's going on."
