"I wasn't ever much for television," he admitted. He read more than he watched TV, and he glanced to her again. "Drop 'em by my trailer," he suggested. "I'll give 'em a try." She might have a point, after all -- if nothing else, they'd be a way to pass some time. He'd certainly read through enough books that he wasn't overly interested in because they were there, because they were something to do. Besides, they might grow on him.
Lapsing into silence as he considered her question, he eventually shrugged. He had no idea how to really answer that. He didn't go looking for challenges -- or trouble -- but he had to admit that there was something nice about conquering one. "The ones I can manage on my own," he said finally. He wasn't sure it was the sort of answer she was looking for, but it was the most honest one he could come up with.
