Olive certainly wasn't pleased with this turn of events. She was getting wrapped up in things with school and was about to get ready for prom and now this. She was stuck in this carnaval, being forced to sing for these audiences. Sure she had performed for her school once, but she had never thought of it as something she wanted to do for a living. She didn't get the rush from performing that some people did. Oh sure, she enjoyed it well enough but there were other things she liked to do more. At the very least she didn't like performing for all these strangers. At least with performing in school she knew most of the students. There were friendly faces in the crowd, but here that wasn't the case. She wished her family was here...or at the very least some of her friends. Being alone in a new place that freaked her out really sucked. She decided that staying cooped up in her tent when she wasn't performing may not be the best thing for her. If she could have her friends maybe she could make some new ones. She was dressed in one of her day dresses and her hair was pulled back in a messy ponytail. She certainly looked like she fit in, but she didn't want to. She wasn't from this time or this place. She had a life back home, but since she couldn't get back there at the moment she would have to make do with what she had been given. She was always the type that saw the good in things...or at the very least she tried to. So, it was no surprise that she would do the same in this situation. She made her way through the camp, looking into each of the tents. She wanted to see if there were any new arrivals. Maybe some of them would be from her own world. She had to hold out hope that she would see them again, because it gave her something to strive for. She made her way from tent to tent, but soon enough she realized none of them were here. So, instead she started smiling at the people she passed, hoping she might be able to strike up a conversation with someone soon. The truth was all she wanted was a friend. |
