Derek had been through a lot in his life, one of his least favorite things thus far was being kidnapped. He didn't like not being in control of his own life, and it seemed this place was determined to keep him guessing. Plus he had friends back home...or well people that needed him. Of course he wasn't about to admit it to anyone else, but he needed them to. For the first time in his life he had started to feel useful again. He wasn't alone anymore, and he had people in his life that he wanted to keep alive. It was a strange feeling for him, but it had been one he was slowly getting used to. He knew for sure that it was something he wanted to continue, but how could he do that when half of those people weren't here. Some of the ones that were here he hadn't be as close to back home, but slolwy he was starting to realize how quickly that could change. All these thoughts rushing through his head was starting to get to him, and he knew he needed to take a break from it all. So, he had decided a run was the best thing for him at the moment. Of course he also know that no matter what abilities he may have it wasn't smart to go out there alone right now, so he had asked if anyone wanted to go with him. A nice young girl had volunteered, so he had taken her up on the offer. Sure it meant that he may have to hold back a little, but he was alright with that. And that also meant that should they run into any trouble at least she wouldn't be out there alone. If he had turned her down and she had went out alone and something had happened to her he wouldn't ever forgive himself. Normally he wasn't the hero type, but he didn't want any innocent people getting hurt by getting caught up in this world when it clearly wasn't their fault. They had made plans to meet at the edge of the camp, so that is where he was heading. He had elected for a simple pair of a trousers and just an undershirt. He hadn't wanted to wear one of the button ups. It really was too hot for something like that, and if he was about to go running he was sure to be sweating even more. If he had his way he would have went without a shirt all together, but some of the women from less modern times might take offense to it....and he was trying to blend in. So, he was leaned back against a tree, waiting for her arrival. |
