Sam had been here for long enough to not really need to familiarise himself with the grounds. He always felt more comfortable knowing as much as there was to know about a place that he was going to be for a while and here wasn't any different. When he'd first arrived he had walked the layout of the place countless times and ever since then he'd felt like he'd known the place inside out. He also liked to help the rousties out when they were setting up, so that he was aware of any structural weaknesses of that particular location, should he need them. Sam disliked surprises, they were rarely good as far as he was concerned and so he liked to be as prepared as possible for any eventuality.
Today Sam had been digging for the latrines. It wasn't a particularly pleasant job but Sam found it oddly therapeutic, he wouldn't go as far as to say comforting. He supposed it reminded him of digging up graves, which again wasn't a pleasant job but it was one he and Dean used to do together in a simpler time, as hard as that was to believe. He laughed to himself at the thought and having just finished digging he moved back out of the hole, bumping into someone in the process. "Sorry." He said as he turned to face whoever it was. He gave a small smile in the blonde girls direction. "Don't be, it was my fault." He looked back at the hole he'd just dug "though if you hadn't bumped into me you'd probably have fallen in that ditch. So maybe you should be thanking me."
