This time Amy nodded her head to indicate that he was right, at least as far as the first letter of her name went. There were only two other letters, but she didn’t think the name itself was obvious. There were multitudes of A-names for women out there. To catch it on the first guess would be incredibly lucky and incredibly improbable. Amy wasn’t the only A-named girl working at the carnival, either. Off the top of her head she could name Anna, the trapeze artist, and the archer’s assistant who she was pretty sure was named Allison.
Amy tried to think of ways to make the guessing easier. She held up two clawed fingers to mean two syllables, but frowned inwardly when she realized that Derek might not know what she was talking about. For the hundredth time that night she silently cursed her inability to speak English.
