[Additionally, there are notes on Jaime here]
Jaime was still unimpressed. Highly, highly unimpressed. She had discovered that no amount of swearing, threats, or pleading was going to get her home again. And she had to be home. For starters, her dad was going to (eventually) wonder where she was, and goddammit, she had people to stalk. Well, all right, not stalk exactly, but ... ... no, all right, it was stalking. Really, there wasn't any other way to see it. But it wasn't malicious stalking. She'd wanted to help him so he didn't keep tearing down auditoriums every time he was going to declare someone a fraud. She hadn't ever really stopped to consider whether or not he'd want help, but that was a bridge she intended to harass when she came to it. Now, it was all moot. Unless he showed up here. Which ... wasn't likely in the least. Well, maybe it was. She was here, right? She was here, and there were some damn interesting people here that she'd met so far. Like the red-head who could actually do magic. Supposedly. She'd demonstrated though, and Jaime hadn't been able to work out the trick to it. Which didn't mean there wasn't one -- there always was one -- it just meant she hadn't been able to figure it out. She was slow to accept the idea that maybe there really were other worlds than these. With nothing much to do herself (her business didn't require much of a pre-set up), Jaime was wandering -- and trying to dodge people interested in putting her to work. So she wove her way around through the trailers and rising tents to see if anyone she knew was around, or if someone wanted to make a new friend tonight. In the spirit of her personal rebellion, she sang softly as she walked along. "I'm not a fortune teller, don't have a crystal ball. I can't predict the future, can't see nothing at all..." |
