Alex nodded again. "Yeah, I'll be keeping an eye on them, that's for sure." And probably everyone else too, but she didn't want to tell Jaime that. She might think Alex was some kind of stalker, when she was really just cautious after all of the terrible things that had happened to her, and to people she cared about. It was possible that Art and Carl were just as screwed and unwilling as the rest of them. Still though, she'd feel better keeping an eye on them.
"That would be kind of fun." Alex agreed. Some people would probably get bent out of shape about it, but it'd be interesting. And it might lighten the moment. They could use as much of that as possible, because not much was light about the 1930s. Alex knew enough to know about the Great Depression and how so many had suffered. Thinking about it that way, they were lucky to have jobs. Not many people could say that right now.
"Maybe we all have to say it in unison or something." Alex mused. She knew they were being completely ridiculous and none of that would work, but it was fun to pretend. Maybe they'd get out of here at some point, and maybe they wouldn't. Only time would tell now. It wasn't like they could go on strike without hurting themselves.
