"Sorry," Jaime replied quickly. She certainly hadn't meant to joke about tragedy, but she hadn't known, really. Still, she felt like she was going to have a bad case of foot-in-mouth soon, and she cringed inwardly. It did made her grateful that her dad was still alive, even if he wasn't here, and she tried not to think about that, either.
"Shady," she echoed with a grin. But it seemed fitting for the situation, and she nodded. "Maybe some people will get together and start a rebellion," she suggested. Not her, of course; she wasn't the leader type. But she'd sure as hell follow and add her voice to the crowd if someone got that ball rolling. Even as she considered that, she had to wonder how much good it would do. They'd have to have a target, and so far Jaime didn't think there was anything concrete to focus on in that regard.
"I don't know," she admitted. "I mean, don't they kind of have to? Otherwise, it creates paradoxes or something. You know, if we're all suddenly missing, it ... would completely fuck each of our realities' timeline, right? So they have to ... eventually ... put us back where they took us from. You know, whenever they're done using and abusing us or we figure out the secret code to get ourselves out."
