“Maybe,” Juliet replied. Maybe though, they’d block out the memories, somehow, of the people who were vanished so that no one asked questions. Like they’d never even been here. That was kind of a disturbing thought though, and she shook her head slightly. They’d see, one way or another.
Juliet laughed quietly at Elizabeth’s expression and question. “No, but it becomes infinitely more acceptable not to wear them. There’re all sorts of feet and joint problems related to wearing shoes like that for too long at a time, so a lot of women are choosing comfort over style in every day life.” They were, at least, in her particular reality. Maybe it didn’t stand across the board, but Juliet liked to hope it did. “They have corsets, but mostly for …” Juliet shrugged. “Well, they’re not common, and definitely not day wear. Costumes, and as parts of lingerie and things like that.”
Glancing around, she rolled her shoulders slightly before tilting her head. “I should probably get out of your hair though.” She was Elizabeth had things to do, even if said thing was only putting the elephant away. Juliet herself had a few things she wanted to explore herself. “It was nice chatting with you though,” she added sincerely. It had been, and she looked forward to future conversations with the woman.
