Juliet winced a little when Elizabeth detailed everything she'd been torn away from. Juliet had casual friends, acquaintances, and one or two people she wished she was something more to at home, but ... nothing quite so epic. It made her wonder about everyone else's situations. What had they all been pulled from? What had they been in the middle of? "Ouch," she said. "That ... sucks. Maybe ... you know. This'll be over some day and you'll bounce right back into that."
Juliet's expression shifted to one of amusement. "Less than that," she assured her. "I ... actually showed up in an indecently short dress. I was .. at a club, for my birthday and ... that's what I was wearing. I can show you some time. There're actually people who parade around in public in less fabric than that when I'm from," she continued. "Sort of makes you wonder what they're going to be wearing in 2040, you know? Maybe they'll be running around with pasties over their privates and calling it good."
