There was a particular way about her now, a grin that was harder to shift, Kaylee was pleased. “Imagine that- ain't so often I got help in the engine room. Shepherd did now n'then before he left.” Though she liked things to be done just so, Simon'd be clever enough to follow direction. As kindly and helpful as the Shepherd was to have around, Kaylee didn't like to say it didn't hurt how easy Simon was on the eye. “Say, ain't it kinda-” She searched for a word. “Counterproductive-” She was sure to punctuate her observation by giving Simon an up and down sort of look, as if to indicate his shirt being all gone, smile still fixed. All in all it seemed a very brief retelling, Kaylee couldn't help but think they'd spent the better part of a year on Serenity with Simon, all without him making a move, what changed? “I ..never wanted y'to go-” She voiced softly, she hoped Simon didn't need to said over, but she didn't mind assuring him all the same. “Was th'Captain's fault. I know.” She added dismissively, to prevent him getting too guilty about it all, was more Mal than anything else.
She started to walk forward, encouraging him along, she even offered a hand to help snap him from what she could only assume might be a bit of a daze, at least that's how she felt. “It's a carnival- ..you know like a fair or somethin'-, there's rides. There's all shows n'games. Performers- There's an elephant 'round here too.” Her tone wasn't so cheerful, but she merely explained with a lilt. “They'll ..have some kinda work waitin' here for you, that's the thing about it- folk what run this place'll be expectin' you here- it's the same when anyone turns up.”
