The horse she was leading put his nose to the ground to sniff and huff, seeking out some grass to nibble Kaylee supposed she stopped leading him along, now they were clear of the cars, though not too far out. Digging a hand into a pocket, she pulled out a carrot, snapping it in half to present a piece to the gelding, tucking the other half away again. "Here look- had to wait 'else the others woulda wanted some too." The horse took the carrot from the flat of her hand and munched loudly. It wasn't that she wouldn't give the girls treats too, just she didn't want Star too put off by the new arrivals, a little special treatment might distract him. "All I could get was one carrot, the guy runnin' the cook house is kinda-" She made a face, as if she thought he was weird, but she didn't really want to say it allowed, it seemed mean. Though it was considered human food too, maybe that was his problem, he didn't want to share with horses.
Though she planned to keep inside the carnival grounds more or less, the empty, dusty road was in view ahead of her, off to the side. As Kaylee went to lead the horse on toward the backlot, she glanced out to see a person standing out there on the roadside. A person without a shirt? She watched as he turned to look down the road, see of there was anything ahead and instantly she realised she knew who it was she was looking it and her heart practically began to pound at a rate. "What in th-Qù nĭ de." She scrambled at a hurry to hitch the horse to the side of the nearest trailer and hurry past, out from the clearing of trucks and trailers, out to the road. She stopped short of getting to him, finding she didn't know what to think. She recognised the tool in his hand, which made even less sense to her than his lack of clothing. "Simon?" She questioned out to him, to get him to turn around. Still in disbelief as she was caught between uncertainty at what to trust and wanting to leap over and give him a bear hug, if only for the sight of someone familiar, if he'd appreciate it was also what caused her to hesitate. This place got stranger every day.
