“Definitely. I’ll need to find something soon one way or another. Radio, notebook... I’ll take what I can get.” Amy gave a half-smile. Her job would take a little extra work, but she was up for it. At least she thought she was. She was still waiting to get hit by a wave of hopelessness. If she was going to have a breakdown or despair over her situation it was going to be delayed. That much was clear. Really she was kind of grateful for that. Having a relatively clear head made it much easier to figure things out - the layout of the carnival, how she was going to do a song and dance routine, all of it.
Carl was good with coming up with answers, but Amy could tell he hadn’t been expecting her last question. She took in his reaction, becoming slightly concerned when she was met with Nothing you need to worry about. It meant that there was something going on, even if it was something they didn’t want new arrivals to concern themselves with. Amy just nodded, asking nothing further on the topic. If it was under control, she wasn’t sure she wanted to know about it.
“Food?” She asked as she followed him out of the tent. Of course there would be food. The people working for the carnival did need to eat, after all.
