Carl frowned at her question and took a moment to adjust his hat. That moment didn't bring him any further enlightenment, however. "I'm not entirely certain," he admitted. "You.. are the first we've had for this act for some time." The carny didn't want to go into particulars there, but Miss Peterson seemed a little worried by the prospect of having to come up with an act herself. "It might be that there is a notebook detailing the specifics of the previous group's act among your possessions. It might be that there isn't." It was the best that he could offer.
He nodded when she spoke, having politely watched as she'd taken in her surroundings. It was impressive. And certainly bigger than it needed to be given the places they'd taken to visiting over the years. Not to mention the times they were living in. "That depends," the carny said with a shrewd smile. "The size of our usual audience is significantly less than capacity. But if our stands were ever full, that should amount to one thousand audience members. Some nights, it seems, we don't even get a tenth of that." So she needn't worry too much. It was less intimidating than it looked. And they'd been set up in Enid for a week now, so audience numbers to this show would start dwindling. Though Enid was still busier than there last stop and with missing employees. "Shall we move on?" Not that Carl minded her being here, but there was more to show her and more to be done before the carnival opened for the evening. His intent was to point out the important places on the back lot and get her her things.
