Who: Open to all.
Where: Bathsheba and the carnival lot outside Enid.
When: Wednesday (slightly backdated).
What: Rescue mission.
Warnings: Violence and probably language.
Carnaval de la Lumière had met on Sunday to hear that the missing women had been located and were seemingly safe, though probably not entirely sound. A party was then organised for the following day, and between running a double bill preparations were made for the rescue. They'd had some idea of what to expect, in the captured women not paying them much heed or having any desire to leave the town they were now part of, but the hostility had been another thing altogether. Being shot at certainly hadn't been part of the plan and it had become abundantly clear to the rescue party that there was more at work in Bathsheba than they'd thought. So the party had retreated, not wanting to significantly injure members of either side, and to reassess things. But at least one had stayed behind in Bathsheba and they couldn't really afford to lose any more. Upon the rest of the party's return to the carnival, they'd had another meeting of sorts in order to combine their experiences at the town. A number of observations pointed to there being a specific woman in charge, and a couple of the more stealthy individuals had made their way to Bathsheba once more the following day, tasked with observing the women and looking for their leader. With the woman in charge more-or-less confirmed, a new plan was born. Different individuals were tasked with keeping different women busy and generally trying to avoid the death of either party, while a small group was tasked with dealing with the woman in charge - the plan being to incapacitate and capture her, taking both her and the women back to the carnival. Wednesday dawned and the more prepared team, both in terms of knowing what to expect and the things that went with them, made the trek to Bathsheba. Their presence was felt as soon as they arrived and it didn't take long for small skirmishes to break out. Things went to plan, for the most part, until the small team engaged the woman referred to as the Matron. At that point, the other women had peeled off their targets and headed to her defence. That was the moment their plan became that much more difficult. But another moment and an expert shot had remedied that... (OOC: This thread is open to separate threads in the comments (note if it's open/who it's open to in the subject). You're welcome to focus on different parts of the day - the preparation, fighting at Bathsheba, the aftermath of that, or even returning to the carnival.) |
