Alex thought she was adjusting pretty well here. Better than some. She figured everyone would accept it eventually, though. People still seemed to be showing up. It felt like every day, there was someone new. She wanted to get back to Michael and Nikita, but she understood there was nothing she could do about that right now. She tried not to spend too much time thinking about it, at least. Falling into her routine here was easy enough. Alex was used to changing and adapting to survive situations. This one wasn't any different, aside from the fact it was in 1935 and completely insane. She knew things could be worse. They'd been worse than this for her, so she kind of thought this was okay. For now. As long as she got to go back home at some point. Living in a tent wasn't that different from living on the streets, and though it had been awhile, Alex remembered how her life had been then. She was on her way to see Mitchell, wanting to thank him for the flowers. It had been a small but sweet gesture. It had definitely made her smile, and it meant that she had helped him, even if only a little. So she was going to see him to tell him thanks. She should have done it earlier, but things always seemed to be so busy around there. And it wasn't the easiest to find out where anyone was around here, either. She was still new and learning all that. She was glad she could find her own tent, since it wouldn't be difficult to mistake hers for someone else's. She thought she was in the vicinity of where Mitchell was, though. She'd seen him heading in this direction a few times, but she hadn't had a spare moment to tell him then. She wasn't sure if she was right, but she could just keep knocking on these doors until she found him. Apparently though, tonight was her lucky night because Mitchell was headed in this direction. Now she would save herself the embarrassment on being wrong. Alex ran up to meet him. "Hey Mitchell, how are you?" She asked. She was glad that it had been this easy to find him. |
