"Is it sad I have no idea? The farthest back my history knowledge goes is the sixties, and everything I know about dating in that time, I learned from "Mad Men"," she reported with a grin. "Which seems to be a lot of adultery. Not really my cup of tea," she added with a shrug. And it wasn't, really. It seemed like one of the most hurtful things one person could do to another. She'd been through it once, but she hadn't been very deep in the relationship -- though she guessed it was one of the many factors that impacted her dating life -- or lack thereof.
"Oh wait. Didn't they do like, roller skating and soda shoppes in the fifties? I'm getting closer." Honestly though, she doubted there was a whole lot of cheerful dating going on during the Depression. "Guess we'll have to wing it," she decided.
While she'd had some very strong gut instincts to pull her hand away, to keep him from catching it, she managed to hold herself still. She focused on keeping her mind to herself so she wouldn't accidentally read him -- or that he wouldn't accidentally pick up anything from her. "Guess we should probably wait until our first date before you get a goodnight kiss, huh?"
