"Thankfully." But the fact that he had been able to stop her left a lot of lingering questions in her mind. How? was the main one. But it wasn't the time to ask that yet. He was nervous, and she could practically feel it. She didn't blame him. She didn't blame anyone who was nervous here considering none of it made any sense.
"That's how it seems, yeah. Even from the great beyond." She didn't quite smile at her own attempt at a joke. It was more like a grimace. It had, of course, crossed her mind that he'd be pulled here, but she hadn't believe it would happen. Not really. And for his sake, she was sad that it had. For her sake, she was thrilled to see him, and she knew that was selfish. But it wasn't like she had any control over who was brought here.
But at the mention of him getting Elena back, her eyebrows furrowed. "What do you mean? Where did she go?" There was confusion in her voice. She stopped walking, losing interest right then in the idea of feeding. She reached out and put a hand on his arm. "Or where did you go?" Anna shook her head because none of what he was saying was making any sense to her right then.
