Grey still didn't really know what she was doing, but she rather liked the role she'd been given - half male, half female and she had plans, so many plans but she needed to save some money up first, or perhaps try and speak to the management about them giving her some. It was for the benefit of the carnival after all. She wanted a better outfit, that was all. Everything else she could do on her own, when the time was right. It was occupying her mind though, something to focus on in lieu of what was actually going on and the fact she was alone here, just like everyone else. She was tired as she walked back towards her new house car, it was smaller than the trailer but at least she knew she wasn't going to have to share with someone, which was better for everyone. She stopped off at the noticeboard, just in case there was anything of interest and there it was - handwriting she knew as well as her own, and even if she hadn't, even if it had been typed the sentiment screamed his name - Cal. She read the progressing notes below his quote. He was here. Her Cal was here, and had been for at least a while by the looks of it. She knew she should have stuck something up on there herself - some kind of missing persons announcement just in case he showed up, so he'd know how to find her, so others would be able to tell him she was here and waiting for him. Now she wasn't entirely sure where to go or what to do - wait here in case he came back? Leave him a note telling him where the house car and she herself was. Or look for him. She went for the last option, waiting around wasn't her style, and the place was only so big. Assuming for a moment he'd stayed here and not gone out into the town. She wasn't quite ready to check out the town just yet, she was far too likely to get herself shot. So - dressed in her uniform - a one piece, half Tarzan style, the other filly and more like a swimming costume than anything, her hair slicked back on side, half a moustache and beard on one half of her face, more make-up than she'd worn in her life on the other, she started walking, looking around her the whole time, hoping for a glimpse of him. Would he know she was here? It had been a few days since the full moon so she couldn't be sure, particularly not under the current circumstances. She stopped quite suddenly. Surrounded by tents and trailers and activity as people made their way back after an evening of doing jobs they were never meant to do and she shouted his name, the way she did at protests when they got separated, when she saw the police coming and knew things were about to turn nasty. She didn't mind being arrested so much, not as long as Cal was getting arrested along side her. "Cal!" she screamed, her heart pounding in her chest at the thought of seeing him again. |
