"Well, good. Because if that was you during normal times ... ouch." She meant it jokingly but it was true enough. If he couldn't walk into an auditorium without cracking the roof, well, it would have been difficult for him to just exist.
Lapsing into silence, Jaime continued to stare into the darkness. She thought it was good they didn't have things to do in the morning; if they did, she'd actually make an attempt at going to bed. As it was, she wasn't really tired (despite her recent energy dump), and she wasn't going to be the one to break off this meeting. Not while they were talking, and maybe accomplishing something.
"Sucks that he wasn't," Jaime said finally. "I mean ..." She exhaled as she tried to articulate herself. It would've been easier to grab his hand and just let him see everything, but that seemed pushy and invasive. "I mean, if he was real and using his ... abilities or whatever like that. I don't know."
She grinned. "Guess I don't really have room to talk. I mean, I won myself a lottery so I wouldn't have to work if I didn't feel like it." But at the same time, it was different. It was different than standing up in front of people and parading around abilities for profit. She still couldn't really grasp what she was trying to convey, because it was a tangle in her mind to begin with, so she shrugged as she glanced over to him.
