The funny thing was that he'd spent most of his adult life looking for someone that was like him. Then when he was faced with the possibility, he'd run away. He was giving himself a little break, seeing as he'd just been kidnapped and put into a carnival -- which was more fucked up than anything he'd ever experienced so far in his life. And he felt like that was saying a lot.
After leaving the fortune teller's tent, he'd just tried to find somewhere he could be alone. When he thought he was ready to return to civilization, he decided he would look for Jaime and ... apologize for taking off, if nothing else.
The field wasn't exactly on his way back, but it was close enough that when he heard a ton of frogs, it caught his attention and he changed course slightly. He didn't get there in time to watch the whole show, but it was ... interesting, none the less.
He hesitated for a moment and then spoke up to catch her attention and started walking closer to her. "So. What are the odds that I've just ... lost my mind and I'm actually locked in a little white room somewhere and this is all just happening in my head?"
