About your character General information Name: Franklin Edward “Eddie” McLaggen Birthdate: January 1, 1999 Residence: A country cottage outside of Wakefield Parents: Katie Bell and Fred Weasley Cormac McLaggen Bloodline: Pure House: Hufflepuff Current Year at Hogwarts: 7th
Appearance Height: He is about 5’8” Weight: 170 lbs Build: Slightly stocky but it’s muscle from playing Quidditch. Eyes: Brown Hair: red Anything Unique in appearance: He’s definitely got the look of a Weasley PB: Adam Hicks
Psychology Introvert/Extrovert: Extrovert, though he often tries a little too hard to fit in. Best Childhood Memory: The day he learned that Cormac’s mother died. He was ten and hated the woman. Ever since he was little she’d called him Frankie and pinched his cheeks every time she saw him. (This is why he prefers his middle name.) Once they left him with her for the weekend and the only thing she would feed him was brussel sprouts. She always bought him ugly clothes for Christmas. He just never seemed to fit in with her and he always felt as if he was being forced into being a good grandson. It wasn’t so much that he was happy when she died, Eddie just felt as if a huge weight had been lifted from his shoulders. Worst Childhood Memory: When he was nine, Eddie saw the most awesome thing in the window of Weasley Wizarding Wheezes. It was the first time his mum had let him go anywhere in Diagon Alley by himself and since she’d never let him go into the store he went in to get a closer look at the item. Just as he was about to pick up the item and go spend some of his birthday money his mum came in and snatched him up. He was never allowed to go anywhere in Diagon Alley without her again.
Worst Fear (will be their Boggart):Cockroaches, they had these giant ones in America that fly. He was out doing a night flight with his father once and one got stuck in his hair.
History/Personality Include strengths, weaknesses, quirks, general opinion of school, and any major life events.
There is a lot about who he is that Eddie does not know. He does not know that Cormac is not his biological father, Fred Weasley is.
Katie and Fred hooked up at the birthday get together the twins had in 1998. They had always been friends and had flirted back and forth but nothing serious had ever grown between the two of them until that night. The two of them were together as often as they could find time with the war looming ever closer. When he died a month later in the Battle of Hogwarts Katie was emotionally devastated and Cormac McLaggen arrived to pick up the pieces. Not really caring who she was with as she had begun falling hard for Fred, she allowed Cormac to become a distraction. What she had not realized until a few weeks after Fred’s death was that she was about two months pregnant. She knew the baby was Fred’s but allowed Cormac and everyone else to believe it was his.
When Cormac proposed, Katie accepted and went quietly with him to Wakefield where they took up residence in a cottage on his family’s property. There Eddie was born and grew up as a country boy. His best friends were his dog Knight, Sebastain the cat, and the family owl Guthaim. He didn’t have any cousins around and his parents never had any more children.
Growing up, Eddie’s two favorite activities were muggle magic tricks and flying. He knew both of his parents had played for the Gryffindor Quidditch team and while his mother wouldn’t fly with him no matter how much he begged her to. However, Cormac taught him to be a keeper even though Eddie complained that he rather fly freely around the pitch. To spend time with his mother, Eddie did his best to learn some muggle magic tricks. There was a muggle magic shop in town where he bought his wares. Katie would smile and seem to loose a bit of the sorrow she seemed to perpetually have whenever he would successfully pull off one of tricks. When Eddie got his Hogwarts letter his mother fussed that she didn’t want to lose her baby boy and Cormac convinced her that everything would be okay. Neither of the McLaggen boys knew why she was nervous about his going off to school. Katie was very relieved when she learned that he had been placed in Hufflepuff instead of Gryffindor.
Eddie had to work hard not only to make it through his studies, but to make friends as well. He always seemed to be on the outside of things. His quirky sense of humor and lack of knowledge about things outside the town of Wakefield made it so that he had to study not only school subjects but how to interact socially. During his second year, Eddie went out for the Quidditch team and was placed on reserve as keeper. During practice one day he knocked the quaffle so far that they placed a beater’s bat in his hand and when a beater position opened up the next year he’d found his place on the team. His success as a member of the Quidditch team helped him overcome some of his awkwardness.
During his fourth year, Eddie came down sick with Swine Flu over Christmas break. While he was in St. Mungo’s Victorie Weasley came to visit and Katie panicked. She kept Eddie out of school for the remainder of the year and convinced Cormac to take a job as the professional announcer for the Sweetwater All-stars in America. As a result, Eddie was pulled from Hogwarts. While in America Katie used her old school books and home schooled him.
Eddie missed his friends something terrible. He did make new friends with the children of several of the players his dad worked with. Still, nothing he did could take his mind off all he knew he was missing back at Hogwarts.
In the spring his second season with the All-stars, Cormac lost his temper during a match and was fired. The family moved back to the cottage in Wakefield. Immediately, Eddie begged his father to get him back at Hogwarts and Professor McGonagall allowed him to return as a 5th year because O.W.L.s are an important part of a wizard’s education.
Upon his return, Eddie had to take a year off from Quidditch and is now captain of the Hufflepuff team. His years in America actually helped Eddie mature and he has lost some of the social awkwardness he had before. He has also found that some of the younger students seem to be watching him rather closely, but that could be his imagination.

Eddie was sitting alone at a table in the common room. On the table before him several papers were spread out. The trash can beside him was overflowing with parchment. He had chosen to skip lunch in favor of trying to get a practice schedule together. “This isn’t working,” he complained as he crumpled up yet another attempt to fulfill his mission. Each time he thought he’d figured out the perfect schedule he noticed that he’d missed a class time for one of his players. “How does Professor McGonagall get it all done?” he asked not having realized someone had returned from lunch.
“How does she get one done?” a voice asked which Eddie recognized as belonging to his seeker. The individual walked across the room shaking their head. The captain of the Hufflepuff team was always a bit too focused on getting things done. Of course, that is what made Eddie such a good captain.
Eddie jumped and banged his knee on the bottom of the table. “Get all the classes scheduled,” he reached down and rubbed his knee as he slid his chair back. “I can’t even get seven of us together for a decent number of practice sessions.”
“Take a break,” the instruction was given rather than a suggestion made. “I noticed you weren’t at lunch so brought you an apple.” The apple was placed on the table beside him while the papers were gathered up and placed in the folder.
“Thanks,” Eddie gave an exhausted smile as he leaned back in the chair. He hadn’t realized how hungry he was. Maybe the schedule would work itself out later if he ignored it for a bit.
