Psychology Introvert/Extrovert: Introvert Best Childhood Memory: It is perhaps more bittersweet than sweet. When her mother’s father passed he gifted his entire library to the young and inquisitive Juniper. He’d collected books his entire life and she associated the scent of old books with her grandfather. Her earliest memory is of sitting on his lap while he read Shakespeare aloud, followed closely by listening to her mom read Tolkien to her at bedtime. Books being her best friends the gift of such an extensive and elaborate library were so exceptionally wonderful she could not imagine anything better. Other than having her grandfather back in her life… Worst Childhood Memory: Three days after her seventh birthday she was riding her muggle bike, a gift from her grandparents, when she was chased by a large and mean spirited Rottweiler. Being naturally clumsy she was unable to peddle quick enough and lost her balance. Once she had fallen from the bike the dog pounced. The attack was brutal and fierce. Luckily a neighbor of her grandparents, with which she was staying at the time, saw and saved her from the dog. With her parents on vacation her grandparents took her to a muggle doctor. The muggle care resulted in the scars that run along her left side. Worst Fear (will be their Boggart): Because of the attack she has an overwhelming fear of most dogs. However, the boggart would specifically take the form of a large and rabid looking Rottweiler.
Personality Include strengths, weaknesses, quirks, general opinion of school, and any major life events. The daughter of a librarian and an artist she lived a very quiet life in the families small cottage on the outskirts of Ottery St. Catchpole. Even as an infant she was quiet and serene, she still embodies those traits. Juniper much prefers the company of her books to that of people, she adores her family and loves them wholly but she feels most at home with her nose in a book. Exceptionally smart she excelled in her studies and earned the title bookworm from her fellow classmates in school. However, she has very little common sense and severely lacks people skills. If given the choice she would always choose to take an exam or write an essay rather than talk to people she doesn’t know.
This quirk made school difficult; she could communicate with the teachers well. Yet when she attempted to speak to her classmates she stuttered and fumbled for words and they often made fun of her. Which of course resulted in her retreating into her books more and more.
When she turned ten things began happening around her that she could not logically explain. Both of her parents had attended Hogwarts, but had chosen to live mostly as muggles. Juniper had shown no skill in magic before this and was caught by surprise when she turned a bully’s desk upside down with him in it. Luckily her parents were supportive and helped her to understand what was going on. It was hard for her to accept that she was going to attend Hogwarts, she didn’t care for the idea of living away from her parents for such long periods of time.
However, she knew that she could no longer stay at the muggle schools, she needed to accept she was a witch. Life at Hogwarts was difficult for her that first year, she rarely spoke to her fellow students unless it was by accident. There were still mean spirited students who made fun of her stutter and caused her life to be difficult. And she used her books to keep her sanity just counting the days until she could return home and hide in her room.
As the years passed she found that she had a place in Hogwarts, there were other students as book savvy as herself and she was accepted by them. Yet she didn’t truly have any real friends, but life was getting easier as she tried to be more sociable.
Example “Mum, I don’t need another dress robe or more shoes…” Juniper stared longingly at the bookstore as they passed it in Diagon Alley. They’d been at this shopping spree for a few hours now and she was utterly done with the entire thing.
Laughing and hugging her daughter’s shoulders Maggie shook her head, “Now don’t you be silly sugar, this is your fourth year! We have to celebrate and you’ll thank me when want to impress the boys.”
“Mum!” Juniper’s fair skin turned a dark rose color and she crossed her arms over her chest, “I don’t want to impress anyone.”
Smiling Maggie pulled Juniper into the dress shop all the while June pouted. It was nearly dinner time when her mother finally allowed Juniper to go to the book store. For the first time all day she was smiling. Once her school books were gathered she spent another hour perusing the shelves and chose a few extracurricular books to read and three novels. With their arms weighed down by bags and baskets the two made their way home. School would be starting soon and Juniper had been putting this trip off for as long as she could manage. However, now that it was done she felt better and ready to start her fourth year.
