16th of November 2008, Jin and Yui
“Wah cool…,” Jin mumbled as he clicked around at some pages he was currently viewing. All of them had different bikes that looked beyond awesome, but the prices where the zeros just never seemed to be ending weren’t as awesome.
When the door opened, Jin immediately jumped a few feet in the air (or really not anything) and a smile spread on his lips as he realized that it could only be one person. Unless his mom had decided to come by but for some reason he doubted it.
“Welcome home~!”
Carefully removing her outer wear and slipping her feet into her slippers, Yui walked into the room from which she’d heard Jin’s voice. She called out the traditional “I’m home” in return, but as she came up behind him and saw what filled the browser he currently had open, she blinked some in surprise.
“Motor cycles…?,” she let out questioningly and stepped up right next to the other, absentmindedly letting a hand fall onto his shoulder. “Is there something wrong with the one you have…?”
“Huh? No,” the older one replied and shook his head while moving a bit so Yui could sit down next to him. Clicking so he could see the next picture, he formed his lips to an o before looking at his girlfriend.
“But Kame got one, right? And we talked about bikes a little yesterday and it made me think and I want a new one…”
“So you’re selling your other one then?” Yui assumed at that because having two bikes would be a bit excessive, especially considering they would have to move fairly soon because of the baby that was on its way. Her stomach had started showing slightly lately, which was a pleasant reminder of how soon it really was now. Turning her eyes off the screen, she viewed Jin’s profile instead, instantly noting how his eyes were a bit bloodshot and the skin under them was considerably darkened. He must’ve been up for many hours straight due to filming. Why hadn’t he gone to bed already? She would ask in a bit, when she’d given him a chance to answer her first question.
Jin fell silent then and leaned back in the couch with a pout on his lips. That was a difficult question, because sure he could see how having two bikes would be a bit useless, but at the same time it would be kind of cool and he really liked the one he had now.
“Well…,” he mumbled and with a slightly confused, but pleading expression on his face he looked at Yui. “Can’t I have both?”
Maybe it was silly to ask her about that, considering it was his bike and if he would get a new one that would be his too, but for some reason it just felt as if… Yui was the one who decided things here. Sure Jin did a lot and he decided a lot, but it was Yui who… in the long run approved of things – if he wouldn’t be allowed to have two bikes then he wouldn’t, it was really simple.
Yui hummed at the request, trying to find a compromise between being honest and being nice. She was rather immune to his puppy eyes by now, even if they were terribly endearing, but at the same time it wasn’t her choice to make really. One could tell he really wanted those bikes and he had worked hard so maybe she shouldn’t tell him not to, but then again, he had asked for her opinion.
“Do you really need both?,” she ultimately asked, looking at the bikes on the screen again for a brief moment, trying to not let her eyes fall on the prices announced as they seemed to take up way too much space for her taste. “Won’t they be a hassle when we move? Maybe you can wait until later…?”
Well that was true… Yui was right – again – about that it would be kind of annoying to have two bikes to think of when they were going to move, because it wouldn’t take too long before they definitely had to after all…
“Mm…,” he hummed in reply before shifting a bit so he sat with his leg on the couch and then put a hand on Yui’s stomach so he could caress it a bit. “We gotta move soon, huh…”
Nodding a little at that, Yui turned her eyes on the hand on her stomach, smiling a little as it was getting really exciting with the small life they’d created growing in there. Looking up again, she was reminded of how exhausted the father of the child was looking and her face expressed worry instead of joy. He really needed to take proper care of himself as this child didn’t only depend on her well being, but his as well.
“Shouldn’t you go get some rest…?” she asked carefully, hoping his manliness wouldn’t come jump in and insist that he was perfectly fine because she would rather have him sleep than have him manly.
At the word rest, Jin couldn’t help but smile faintly as that just sounded really awesome. He would love to sleep some actually and when he first had gotten home a few hours ago he’d considered going to bed right away.
“I want to,” he thus mumbled but then shook his head as he moved his eyes from Yui’s stomach up to her eyes instead. “But I have to be at the set at eight in the morning tomorrow so I need to get up a bit earlier and if I sleep now I’ll get up at like eight or something tonight and… yeah, you know.”
“You can at least sleep an hour now?,” Yui suggested then, putting her hand over his that still was on her stomach, looking down at them and once again wondering over the miracle that was shaping within her womb. “Just a nap and then I’ll wake you up and we can have something to eat. I don’t have any more work until later in the afternoon.”
If he agreed on sleeping, then she could do some light dish while he slept and then he’d get something warm to eat when he woke up. Surely that couldn’t be too bad?
Ever since Yui had gotten pregnant, and they had gotten it confirmed that the baby was alright and all, Jin had been skeptical towards her working. And now when there wasn’t too long to go, when it even showed that she was pregnant, he couldn’t help but feel worried over both Yui’s health and how it was for the baby. The doctor had said that it was okay as long as she wasn’t working too much, but…
“You work too much…,” Jin mumbled then before he leaned a bit forward so he could talk directly to their child. “You think so too, right? Mommy works way too much, she should be at home instead of working~”
Yui laughed a little at that, smiling tenderly when Jin talked to the baby as she just loved it every time he did, even if a lot of those times were about getting the baby to agree with something she disagreed with. Those times felt like they already were a family though, despite the baby not being born yet, but as it already was living in there, perhaps they already were a family?
“My manager is getting my doctors opinion on my schedule all the time,” she assured though and ran a hand through Jin’s soft tresses.
“Mm, but we still think mommy works too much,” Jin continued, this time sounding a bit whiny about it too. He really was just worried though, he didn’t want either of them to get tired or hurt because Yui worked so much. She was really ambitious about her job after all and while Jin liked that – loved it even, he couldn’t help but be worried. Looking up at his girlfriend, he then smiled a little before placing a quick kiss on her lips.
“I’m not the one who hasn’t slept all night,” Yui wisely pointed out when their lips parted, holding the other close so their noses just barely touched. Closing her eyes, she relished in the moment for a bit, but then recalled once again that Jin needed to get some sleep. “If I lie down beside you and wake you up after an hour, will you sleep a little then…?”
Wrapping her arms lightly around his back, she just relaxed and breathed slowly in and out while waiting for his answer.
Maybe it was just a few days, but it definitely felt like forever since the two of them had gone to bed at the same time and fallen asleep next to each other. So it was with a smile that Jin nodded and then kissed Yui again. He really liked kissing her right now, but then again he really, really enjoyed kissing in general. With Yui of course… he really couldn’t help himself when he was drunk though. Tomohisa and Yuu both knew… unfortunately Ryo too. That was something he’d like to never get reminded of though.
“That sounds good,” he mumbled and closed his eyes while just enjoying having her close like this. Maybe they should treasure these moments more than anything, after all, after new years they wouldn’t be able to just be like this anymore. At least not as often.
Smiling a little in victory (because even someone as down to earth as she had moments like that and felt happy over such things), Yui kissed Jin’s brow, then started moving to get off the couch so they could get more comfortable in the bed instead.
“Then let’s go~,” she chirped quietly, reaching out a hand once she was halfway up on her feet and started pulling the larger man with her. The only thing she managed to get up with her though was an arm of course as the rest of him was way too heavy for her. It wasn’t like he was chubby or anything, not at all, but he had quite a broad build, especially compared to her.
After having closed the laptop, Jin had finally gotten up from the couch and when he and Yui eventually lay on the bed, he found it ridiculously difficult to keep his eyes open. As she lay on the side, because apparently that was easier when you were pregnant, Jin too moved so that he could look at her.
“What…,” he mumbled after a little while, immediately noticing how he sounded tired. “What will we eat later?”
”I won’t make you any egg plant,” Yui promised, amusement evident in her voice. Brushing some hair out of his face, she watched him struggle to stay awake even though they both were in bed so that he’d get to sleep. “Anything specific you want…?”
As long as she knew how to cook it, she would make it. Or well, maybe she wouldn’t make him cake, but as long as it was food she would be sure to prepare it for him so that his day would pass as comfortably and enjoyable as possible and then tonight they’d get to go to bed and sleep the whole night through together. She already looked forward to it. Of course he had to get up before her, but if they both went to bed early, then maybe she could at least make sure to wake up and see him off in the morning. That would be nice.
“Food would be good,” Jin lamely joked and even went so far as to chuckle a little at it. It was really lame though and thus he didn’t expect her to find it funny too. Instead he thought of several dishes that he’d like and eventually he came to think of something that, surely wasn’t very easy to make and it wasn’t very light but…
“Steak?”
She should’ve been able to guess that, Yui thought to herself, laughing a little too. Steak it would be though, but she suspected she would have to go buy some meat after Jin had fallen asleep to be able to make that, but the store wasn’t far so that was okay. Jin really loved steak though so she looked forward to see his happy and content face while eating it.
“Okay,” she complied with a smile, letting her fingertips caress parts of his face for a moment. “Now sleep…”
Surprised but happy that she would actually make steak for him (or well, them, but still), Jin smiled at Yui then and nodded a little. He would nap and then while he did that Yui would cook and then he’d wake up and it would be dinner and it would be really, really awesome.
As her fingers came closer to his mouth, he turned his head a little so he could kiss them before looking at Yui again.
“One more?” he asked, of course knowing that the language he used was silly but right now he just couldn’t be bothered.
Finding his sleepy talk endearing, Yui of course didn’t deny him another kiss and moved forward a bit on the bed so their lips could meet. Now that they lay a little closer to one another, she loosely wrapped her arm around his torso to get to enjoy even more of the closeness. Just being relaxed and comfortable together like this was really one of the best things about their relationship. It made her feel treasured and feel that she got to show how much he treasured him in return without having to express it in words that could get rather embarrassing at times, even though she regularly tried to voice her feelings for the other as she thought it was important to talk as well.
Jin closed his eyes then, enjoying to be close to Yui just as much as he enjoyed sleeping – which was rather much. Of course, before he actually fell asleep, his thoughts wandered off to what life would be like in half a year. By then they would both be busy, they would both be tired and they would have a little baby to take care of 24/7. Even though it would be difficult, Jin could already say he didn’t regret it at all. He loved Yui after all and he loved the baby too, he loved his little family and it was absolutely amazing. Then the baby would get older, maybe they would have more kids by then? That would be great…
As Jin slowly drifted off and disappeared in sleep entirely, Yui smiled a little and let her fingers caress his side where her hand lay resting on his upper body. He looked really peaceful like this, a huge contrast to his bouncy self that she often got to see, the side of him which was like a small boy in a grown up body. Then there was the cool Jin too that he brought out when he wanted to impress or when singing and then there was the Jin that just loved her and wanted to be good to her. She loved all parts of him thinking that, she smiled widely and snuggled closer, just for a few minutes before she’d get up and start getting things ready for their steak dinner.
To Jin it felt as if only five or ten minutes as passed when he realized that someone was shaking his shoulder. His eyelids felt heavy and he honestly just wanted to roll over and go back to sleep. He couldn’t however, and thus he slowly, slowly opened his eyes and within seconds he saw Yui’s figure there, sitting just like she always did when he asked her to wake him.
“Mm…,” he hummed as he tried to wake up some. Turning to lie on his back, he looked up at her and a small smile grew on his lips. She was such a good girlfriend, the best really. She was… without doubt the best girl in the world and it was quite crazy to think that he had been so lucky as to get her. He wouldn’t question it though, definitely not, he just liked to think of how lucky he was sometimes.
“I’m up…,” Jin mumbled as he reached out his hand to grab Yui’s and then bring her down so she’d get closer to him. They weren’t close enough lately, he missed that. He missed being really close to her.
Letting out a brief giggle as she was pulled down, Yui tried to look Jin in the eyes but as they were too close it was hard and she gave up, resting her head on his shoulder instead. The position wasn’t very comfortable though, that and food was waiting in the kitchen so she soon tried to push away from him, but failed as a pair of sleepy arms held her in place.
“The steak is waiting,” she reminded the other though, hoping that it would help inspire Jin to get up for real.
“Mm… it smells nice,” he commented, definitely feeling as if he could get up and eat any minute now. But now that he also had Yui so close and felt as if he definitely could… talk to her about anything, maybe now was a good time to ask? Of course he felt as if he could talk to Yui about anything all the time, but sometimes the mood wasn’t right and they were both tired. But he definitely would feel rested once he’d been up a little and…
“Say, Yui…,” Jin thus started and let his hand stroke her arm a couple of times. “Tonight… you have work soon, right? But when you get home… how do you feel about… having sex?”
If she didn’t want to though, of course Jin would be fine with that, there was no way he’d ever force her to do anything… but he might, if she didn’t want to have sex, he most likely would ask her if she… would be okay with helping him out some at least.
Whenever Jin was this straightforward, Yui always got shy. She never got quite used to it, but she could at least answer and talk about it, but not if they looked each other in the eyes because that would’ve been too awkward. She didn’t mind sex though, of course not, she even liked it with the right person just as most people. It was just that she was rather prude compared to her partner.
In response she only hummed and continued to stay close to Jin, but he ought to know her well enough by now to know that that meant that she would gladly… be intimate with him later.
As he got that reply, a wide smile immediately grew on Jin’s lips and he hummed in reply as well. This confirmed that today was absolutely awesome because not only had he gotten to talk to the baby and to Yui but he got steak for dinner and they would have sex tonight. There was no way that today could be better than today really!
“Mm,” Jin hummed again then as he lifted his head and placed a kiss on Yui’s neck before finally sitting up. The good smell of the food really started to make him really hungry. “I’m hungry now~”
Holding her hands on her cheeks as if trying to cool them down after having blushed a bit, Yui looked at Jin for a moment, then nodded and got up on her feet so he too could swing his legs over the edge and get up. Glancing over her shoulder just to make sure he was following, she hurried out in the kitchen to make sure everything was prepared and that the food was still warm. When all seemed under control, she pulled out Jin’s chair and waited for him come into the room. Maybe it was a little bit too much to even pull out the chair, but her mood-swings were really lifting her up high today so she wanted to use this time to pamper him to make up for all the times she had been grumpy and whined at him because of her chaotic hormones.
Jin wasn’t quite sure of why, but whenever he saw Yui walk around and act like a wife – which she did from time to time – he couldn’t help but smile and feel really happy and lucky. She was quite something after all, could be so cute and adorable yet somehow it was just a matter of seconds before she managed to be damn sexy instead. And she, that girl was his fiancée; he couldn’t help but wonder how he’d gotten so lucky. He was really proud of having her; he loved showing her off to his friends and say that she was pregnant – though he couldn’t do that much anymore considering everyone knew already.
“Thank you,” he said as he sat down by the table and then looked after Yui as she walked over to the counter. It was a bit weird though, the power she had over him… but it was the same with his friends – Yuu was almost pathetic when it came to Rina, Tomohisa would do anything for Kazuya and Ryo would probably even kill if Hiroki asked him to. It was just something about girls, he guessed… they had some weird power over their boyfriends… if it hadn’t been so nice he would have thought it was scary.
Once Jin was seated, Yui began serving them the food she’d let be in their separate pots until now so that everything would stay warm. When food was on both plates though, she too sat down and flashed a big smile to the occasion.
“Hope you’ll like it,” she said and took a sip of water before she began to load a mouthful from her plate. It was hard to eat with knife and fork, but you couldn’t really eat steak with chopsticks.
Different from Yui though, Jin didn’t really have problems with knife and fork considering he had eaten with it all the time in America and then his love for western food and music in general had brought him to western restaurants quite a lot.
“This is awesome!” he said after having taken a mouthful but didn’t really wait for Yui to say anything before he had some more. It was really good though. He knew that Yui didn’t really have the best confidence ever when it came to cooking, but no matter what she said, she was really good with it. He definitely didn’t think it was a bad thing that he’d eat her cooking for the rest of his life.
“I just followed the recipe in my book,” Yui humbly responded to the compliment, really not feeling worthy for it. Had she not had her cooking book for western cuisine, then she’d never be able to give this steak such a good amount of taste. The one who really deserved to hear how good this was, it had to be the author of the book. She was really happy that she’d managed to make it according to Jin’s tastes though and it made her really glad to see him eagerly eating the food that she’d put so much effort in putting together.
“Then it’s a damn good book you got,” Jin quickly answered as he drank some of the water before looking up at his girlfriend. His and only his girlfriend and it was so amazing that the two of them were together, really. It wasn’t as if they were the ideal couple to anyone… not even Jin himself – at least not at first. She wasn’t really his type, she wasn’t the kind of girl he’d be looking for but even so he had fallen for her so hard…
“Y’know what?” he asked with a smile and when Yui shook her head in reply he continued. “I really, really… like really, really like you today.”
Of course that didn’t mean that he disliked her at times, he definitely didn’t – though yes, they did have their arguments and such but it wasn’t enough for him to dislike her. No, but today was just… special somehow. He didn’t really know why though.
Actually giggling out loud at that, Yui lifted a hand to her mouth as she still had food in there, waiting to be chewed and swallowed. It wasn’t like she wasn’t flattered, she really was as always when he said such things. It really warmed her inside to hear him tell her how much he liked her, but sometimes it just sounded a bit funny. Jin really was the humorous type at times after all. Deciding to be a little bit funny in return, she lifted her water glass and made a slightly mischievous face.
“Because I spared you the eggplants today?” she suggested, then had some to drink.
On some days, a reply like that would make Jin feel a bit embarrassed for having gone out of his way to say something at all. But today was a perfect day and thus he understood very well what she meant and how she said that, not to make him embarrassed but just because.
“That’s exactly why,” he replied and nodded before having another bite. He was really sick of eggplant though. He didn’t mind if Yui wanted to eat that all day long – or well, yes he did, he didn’t want her to just live on eggplant as she didn’t have to eat only for her sake but for the baby’s as well. Though she didn’t seem to understand that all the time so he had to buy her things sometimes… he didn’t mind that though, he loved spoiling people he liked. Sometimes.
Continuing to smile, Yui cut up another piece of her meat, but didn’t put it in her mouth just yet as there was something more she wanted to say.
“I like you too today,” she said, lifting the fork to her mouth, but then paused as she came up with just a little something to add. “Hope you’ve noticed.”
Now that that was said, she brought the meat to her mouth and looked down at her plate, feeling a bit warm and fuzzy and cutting up more food to keep herself busy.
“I’m lucky today~,” Jin replied to that, at first not noticing just how that could be interpreted but as he thought of it and realized that it very well could sound a little as if he had something special in mind, he couldn’t help but grin just a little bit. Of course he didn’t only think of sex though, there was no way he’d only think of that when it came to Yui, but today he indeed was a little bit luckier than yesterday. Besides, he got steak for dinner today!
Picking up on the grin, Yui realized just what that could hint at and a little embarrassed about having such an agreement for later, she lifted a hand to shield her face that was growing a bit rosy again. She didn’t regret having agreed of course, but it was still as embarrassing to talk about. Glancing at the watch on her arm while pausing in eating for a bit, one of her hands busy covering her up and all, she noticed how the time had run away again. Grabbing her cutlery again, she dared glance up at Jin once more.
“I’ll be picked up in about an hour,” she changed the subject, unfortunately probably making Jin feel a little less lucky, but she wouldn’t be gone for long. It was just a radio show and then she’d be going back home again. “You think you could help me with the dishes so I don’t have to hurry so much…?”
“I’ll do the dishes when you’re gone…,” Jin mumbled in reply, definitely not feeling as lucky now as he had a moment ago. But he was going to be lonely so of course he didn’t like it. He would have things to do though; he had some music to write and lines to remember. And now he also had dishes to do so it was probably all good considering he’d just get lonely otherwise. Maybe he’d call Tomohisa over – if he had time – so they could play some video games…
Not liking how Jin’s mood dropped so dramatically, Yui tried to find a way to save it and thus hurried to open her mouth.
“I’ll only be gone a couple of hours,” she assured, reaching her hand across the table, just barely managing to touch her fingertips against the back of his hand. “And then we have the entire evening together…”
Having added that last part she looked down again though, but without hiding her flushed features this time. They would have the entire evening though, which was rare as of late, so she really looked forward to it.
Immediately grabbing Yui’s hand, being a bit of a romantic even though he liked to deny it, Jin smiled at his girlfriend and stroke her hand with his thumb.
“The whole evening huh,” he said with a stupid smile and then looked down at his plate, not quite sure of what else to say. It did feel a bit weird to sit like this, in the middle of the day and hold Yui’s hand over the table. Of course he didn’t mind, it was kind of cozy actually but it was still a bit weird.
“That sounds great…”
”Mm, I think so too,” Yui tuned in and smiled as well, feeling her skin cool down a bit once again. Their food was also cooling down though and that wasn’t a good thing and thus she a bit reluctantly pulled her hand back to feed herself some more of their dinner. “How’s your schedule tomorrow?”
“I don’t know,” Jin replied as he too had some more to eat. He could probably have a second serve too, because no matter if he was full after this or not, it really did taste almost as if they were at some restaurant and eating more than one serve on restaurants was something Jin definitely could do. Though he didn’t, mostly, as it was really expensive and he was kind of cheap.
“Shooting begins sometime around ten… so I have to be there eight or something… probably they want me there earlier. And then it will go on for a few hours… I guess it depends on how smoothly it goes and the weather…”
Looking up at Yui, Jin smiled softly as he leaned back in his seat and drank some of his water. He really wanted to have the same working hours as she did… or at least be home in the evenings… so he got to tell her and the baby goodnight. Lately it had only happened over the phone.
“It might get really late, but if I’m lucky it won’t?”
“I have tomorrow off,” Yui admitted at that, but unfortunately it didn’t seem like that would have much impact on their life together as Jin would be tied up all day. It couldn’t be helped though and it would always be like that. There would always be days that he was completely occupied by work, at least until the day he retired, but as Jin loved his job, Yui hoped that wouldn’t happen until he was the age or maybe older even if he wished to continue a little longer. Maybe though, maybe… “I… I guess it’d be kind of bad if I came by and visited you on set…? Thought that maybe… if you just had a small break some time… but perhaps that wouldn’t be so wise.”
This part of them both being famous really wasn’t pleasant. She hated how they had to keep things so secret all the time and for her to actually hate something was really extreme, but it was awfully frustrating to be this… restricted all the time.
Just by looking at Yui, Jin thought he could figure out what she was thinking. He would actually love it if she came there. Friends came by all the time; Kazuya had been there quite a lot already and Tomohisa and Yuu came by every now and then as well. Of course Yui could come by and if anyone saw they’d say that they were just friends but…
“If…,” Jin started then, not really liking what he was about to say but figuring that it was better than nothing. “Can’t you bring someone with you, then? You know, just so… you’re not alone, because that would be…”
This was the part of being an idol that Jin absolutely hated. He was lucky who was in KAT-TUN because they were pretty much allowed to have girlfriends without worrying about it too much, but when it came down to it… he couldn’t afford to have a pregnant girlfriend. It just wasn’t possible. Had he just been a regular artist however, it wouldn’t have been that big of a deal…
Lighting up a little at the suggestion, liking to look at things on the bright side and thus ignoring the slightly sad feeling that erupted to get it confirmed that she just couldn’t come on her own as it would be too obvious and thus not good, Yui tried to think over what friends she had that would possibly be available tomorrow and that wouldn’t seem too off to bring to come see Jin. To come with any of her female friends would seem weird though, but if it was someone from Johnny’s, then maybe it wouldn’t seem as weird…?
“Do you know of anyone?” she simply asked after some pondering, figuring Jin ought to know better than her.
Jin hummed a little then as he ate some more of what was left on his plate. Of course he knew of people, but it couldn’t be just anyone so it would have to be someone he was close with. Unfortunately he wasn’t close with Yuya (Tegoshi) or Shigeaki – at least not close enough for them to visit him on the set. He didn’t even like Yuya very much, but he knew that Yui knew both of them very well.
“Koki?” he suggested, humor obvious in his voice and he even chuckled a bit as he drank some of the water. Though as Yui didn’t say anything he looked back at his girlfriend and shrugged a little. After all, no one could really ever know what kind of girls Koki hung out with. He knew a lot of them, and sure many of them were AV idols but he knew quite a lot of regular girls too who weren’t famous. Luckily Yui looked really casual too and by now she had learnt how to cover up who she was and to hide her stomach enough.
“Koki probably got time unless he’s volunteering again…”
”Volunteering?” Yui echoed, getting a bit curious at that, not commenting any on how it would be going with Koki. They weren’t close friends or anything, but they knew each other well enough. Voluntary work interested the young woman though as it really touched her what people would go out of their way and do for others. If she hadn’t been famous and had a family on the way, then she maybe would’ve liked to go abroad on some voluntary work trip. It was growing quite popular lately from what she’d gathered and she’d met a girl once that said it had been the best time of her life. One could do voluntary work in Japan too though of course and if she got a chance, she would gladly take it.
“Yeah,” Jin confirmed, “he works at… some senior citizen home sometimes and then at some place for the handicapped… Not really what you’d think he’d do on his free time, huh?”
Honestly Jin was a bit impressed and even touched by what he had heard that Koki did lately. All of them had had free time and so on and while Jin knew that Koki was far from the harsh guy his image showed off, to hear that he did voluntary work was quite impressive.
“But I guess he could always take a break anyway, so I’ll talk to him later and tell you later.”
“He’s an unexpectedly good person,” Yui commented, despite knowing from before that the guy was softer than he seemed. He really didn’t look like he had such a big heart and warm personality though and thus it was pleasantly surprising that he was the way it was. It was assuring though to know that there were such caring persons in Jin’s surrounding at work though because that meant that he really had it well when he wasn’t at home too. This she knew from before of course, but it was always nice to get to know little things like that.
For a little while Jin remained silent then, trying hard not to chuckle at the word ‘unexpectedly’. It was a bit funny after all, to hear that about Koki when you had known him for so long and knew what kind of person he was.
“Yeah,” Jin said then though, smiling a little as he continued. “I’d never leave you to him otherwise.”
Of course there was no way that he thought of Yui as someone, something he could just leave to other people, but she was pregnant. She was pregnant and just 20 years old and his girlfriend and, well weren’t that reason enough for Jin to treasure her a lot? Surely it was. Of course it went without saying that he’d only chose people he trusted to be around her.
Touched by the concern in Jin’s voice, Yui smiled sweetly as she chewed another mouthful of food, then swallowed. Glancing up at the clock on the wall, she noted that there was still plenty of time and relaxed some in her seat.
“It’ll be great to come see you work,” she mused out aloud, realizing that this would be the first time ever. She hadn’t even gone to any of KAT-TUN’s concerts. “I haven’t ever seen you work before…”
It would really be interesting to see! It actually was a part of Jin’s life that she didn’t know all that much about, not much more than your average Japanese citizen knew about the idols from Johnny’s or what she’d learnt about them when working with others from his agency. She had of course watched some of the shows and dramas he’d been in since they started going out, but she really only knew very little.
“Ah…,” Jin let out then, obviously not excited as Yui about this. It wasn’t that he didn’t want her to see what he was doing, definitely not. But now that she said it like that…
“That will be embarrassing…,” he commented and shook his head a little before taking a hand around his neck for no apparent reason. It really would be embarrassing though, he hadn’t ever really worked before Yui. She had seen and heard what was complete and all but what if she’d be there and witness him screw up? That would be so damn embarrassing…
When Jin was like this he was really adorable. At least that was Yui’s opinion and she couldn’t help but smile. Maybe she would be embarrassed too, if he came watching her work. It instantly made her wonder what it would be like working together one day.
“It’ll be fine, I’m sure,” she let out, feeling really excited about it already. “It’s just me after all and I’ve seen you do many embarrassing things before so I don’t think it’ll be so bad. You look really cool on TV after all so I’m sure you’ll look cool on set too. Don’t worry~!”
Jin wasn’t quite sure of what to pick to reply to that. There were many possibilities after all and while he normally wasn’t a guy who didn’t have a hard time deciding (anymore), sometimes it really was difficult.
“You haven’t seen me do many embarrassing things…,” he muttered after a while, deciding that it was the best to prove Yui wrong. That needed to be fixed after all, because sure, while he had done quite a few things that had made her laugh… surely it wasn’t too many of those that were embarrassing? At least he couldn’t remember them!
Yui cleared her throat at that and made a skeptical face because obviously Jin was in denial here. He’d done some awfully embarrassing things around her, especially when drunk. Trying to decide which one to use as example to remind him of that it probably couldn’t get much worse, she recalled one that had been quite a shocker for her, but was quite a bit back in time. It still should be awfully embarrassing for Jin or else she’d get a little worried. She didn’t believe though that she should have any reason to worry today.
“Remember that time when you and Tomohisa were drunk, playing video games,” she started, trying to recall what game it had been, but as there had been quite a lot of other things to remember from that night and she didn’t really play games herself that much, she really couldn’t remember. “And you ended up mistaking him for your girlfriend?”
Jin’s eyes immediately widened a little at that and he quickly sat straight in his seat and glanced at the TV he could see from here. Well, that was one thing and he remembered it very well and he had even done two things that night – kissed Tomohisa and stumbled over his own feet when he’d gone to get more to drink.
“Well…,” the older of them started as he then looked back at Yui with a lame smile. “…that’s… well… not that bad, really!”
Her hormones getting the better of her, Yui wrapped her arms around herself in worry at that, because how could it get much worse than to kiss the wrong person in front of that very person? Well, kissing the person when he or she couldn’t see maybe classified as worse to some, but still, that statement worried her a bit.
“Have you done worse…?” she asked in a careful voice, really hoping he hadn’t. She didn’t believe he had, but when he said it like that…
“No!” Jin immediately replied, obviously noticing the worry in Yui’s voice. “Or…,” he continued then, feeling that he couldn’t lie to her. He had done worse after all…
“Yeah, but… only when I was single, so… it doesn’t really count, right?”
There was of course that incident a while ago, almost a year ago that had almost screwed things up but both he and Yui were over it and it was barely that they remembered it. It had been in the beginning and all after all, it didn’t really count.
“I wouldn’t! You know… I really wouldn’t.”
Nursing her lip between her teeth, Yui for a moment doubted, but then relied on her hope and faith in him and nodded. The mood was sort of cast down though; a bit gloomy even and in silence she took another really small piece of her food that had cooled considerably since they had first sat down eating. She did trust Jin, that wasn’t the thing, but the subject had just managed to make her awfully gloomy. These hormones really could be a bother. It would be really nice once the pregnancy was over actually and she could return to being normal.
By now Jin could read these signs. At first it had been really difficult, when Yui’s mood suddenly changed and it had led to quite a lot of arguments and so on, but by now he knew he shouldn’t think she was being overdramatic. Well, she was, of course but she couldn’t really help it.
“Yui…,” he thus said with a small smile on his lips and got up from his seat to walk around the table and take her hand. As she got up to her feet he immediately wrapped his arms around her and held her as close as possible.
“I love you, you know…”
