Current music: | Dashboard Confessional - Good Fight |
21st of January 2008, Jin, Ryo, Shigeaki and Tomohisa
As soon as he heard the door open, Jin looked up and quickly pulled out the earphones from his ears. He felt so stupid like this, to sit outside of a studio and just listen to music as if he didn't have anything better to do. He had, actually. He could always go to and get ready for work, go down to the studio where he would have an interview in an hour and a half.
The one to exit wasn't the one he hoped for though, he realised as he laid eyes on a certian Kato Shigeaki who he hadn't heard from since the goukon.
"Oh."
Shigeaki looked at Jin and, as soon as he realised that Jin shouldn't be there, raised his eyebrows in surprise. Of course he didn't know, he hadn't heard anything about Tomohisa talk to Ryo - if he had talked to Ryo to begin with.
"Akanishi-kun," he thus said after a while and walked up to him. "What are you doing here?"
"Nothing," Jin answered immediately and shook his head as he got up to his feet while slowly twirling the earphones around the small iPod. "You alright?"
At first not understanding, Shigeaki frowned slightly, wondering why Jin would ask something like that. Then he remembered though and couldn't help but grin slightly. Had he really been so obvious? Had it been easy to see that he had been worried last Saturday?
"I'm fine," he assured, "just... made up with a girl."
'A girl'? That wasn't really what you called someone if you were talking about your friends. No, just by saying that Jin understood very well what this was all about. He had gone to that goukon despite having a girlfriend - or something like that.
"Aah," he thus let out and, after having put the iPod in the pocket of his jacket, put his both hands in his backpockets. "So... Ryo in there? Finished?"
"Nishikido-kun?," Shigeaki asked as he looked over his shoulder to the studio and the back at Jin. "Sure...? Why don't you go in and-"
"Could you ask him to get out here? Just say that there's someone who wanna see him?"
Jin sighed and turned around to go back to where he'd been sitting before taking up a package of cigarettes. He had tried to quit - and he didn't smoke as much anymore like he had at one point but damn if he couldn't have a smoke when he was nervous?! Of course he could.
"Don't ask."
Shigeaki nodded before turning around. That was a bit odd but then again he could only do as he was told, no? Jin's and Ryo's business had nothing to do with Shigeaki so he didn't really have the right to ask what was going on and who was stupid enough to say no to helping anyway?
As he got into the studio again, it didn't take too long before he found Ryo sitting with Keiichiro, apparently discussing some lines in the song.
"Nishikido-kun?," he asked and once he had gotten the older one's attention he nodded towards the big entrancedoor. "Someone out there who wanna talk to you, didn't get his name..."
A white lie. White lies were good and acceptable. Besides, Ryo wouldn't kill him for this would he? Noo, of course he wouldn't. Jin would probably have something to talk about that he forgot about this tiny little detail anyway.
Ryo raised an eyebrow, going through in his mind people who might want to talk to him and whose name Shige didn't know... He couldn't think of anyone at all. So it couldn't be that important, right? Surely if it was really important then the guy would just come in.
"Can't you tell whoever it is that I'm busy right now?," he asked - never having liked to be interrupted in the middle of a conversation, especially if it was by something not as important -as- said conversation. Really, he couldn't see any way that this could be so important it couldn't wait some.
Shigeaki glanced over his shoulder and then looked back at Ryo. Okay so, the best thing would probably be go to and ask Jin to get in here but apparently he couldn't for -whatever- reason and... If he would talk back to Ryo, well then they wouldn't get along anymore today and that would be a shame really...
"It's some girl...," he thus tried and sat down next to Keiichiro. That usually worked. It had made Takahisa much more interested earlier. And sure, while Ryo -was- in a serious relationship already... Let's just hope it worked.
A girl? Ryo frowned a little - and then his eyes suddenly widened, just slightly, as he came to a realisation. Asuka? Could it possibly be? But why would she be here? Suddenly concerned, Ryo stood up and - without another word to either of the other two people present - headed out to see what was wrong.
When he saw Jin, though, he almost turned around and went right back inside. But, failing that, he folded his arms and rolled his eyes slightly as though to say 'look what the cat dragged in'. "What do you want?"
"Don't be -too- polite," Jin muttered as he stood up and put his hands in his pockets. He knew very well that Ryo didn't really have to be polite to him, but he couldn't help himself from saying at least -something- when he was greeted with -that- attitude, really! But anyway, that was not why he was here, was it? No it wasn't so before Ryo would turn around and leave he would have to say something.
"Um...," wasn't a very good start but it was always a start. Now how did he do this? How did he -say- this? Why did he... or... Well, he knew -why- he was sorry but how did he say that? Jin looked away and then down at the ground, trying for a couple of seconds to come up with a good way to say this. It was... it was really difficult. God damn why were things always so difficult?!
"Y'know...," he continued then before sighing heavily. This wasn't cool, it wasn't cool -at all-. How about not fucking up next time? That would be smart... Jin looked up at Ryo then and nodded slightly as he cleared his throat. "Sorry." One word. One god damn word and that had been so difficult? Why.
It was all that Ryo could do to stay as he was, looking as though he hadn't been affected by that at all - but really, it was surprising. Thinking about it, he didn't see any other reason why Jin would turn up here like this, but... It was still kind of surprising.
Did that mean Ryo was ready to let it go? Well, probably. But he thought he had every right to be as difficult as he wanted to be at this point. After a comment like the one he'd gotten, pretty much anyone would be pretty pissed off - and seeing Jin again had reminded him of the fact that he -was- pissed off. "What for?," he asked loftily.
Oh but if that wasn't just like Ryo... Jin couldn't help but smile slightly and shake his head, of course he would have to say it too? Now that wouldn't really help his conscience very much.
"For...," he started then, sighing as he did and then looked up, up at the ever so wonderful beautiful sky that he really didn't look at too much. He didn't really -care- too much but everything to be able to avoid Ryo's eyes right now.
...Then the perfect answer hit him and he grinned slightly before actually looking at Ryo again.
"For being an ass," he replied, saying it almost as if it was the most obvious thing in the world. And thinking slightly about it, maybe it was - it should be to the two of them anyway.
Now that he'd heard what he wanted to hear, Ryo relaxed some, unfolding his arms in favour of hooking his thumbs in the beltloops of his jeans. He wasn't -that- pissed off anymore after all, and now that Jin had been a good boy and come to say sorry, it was pretty much okay.
"You're damn right," he commented simply, his expression softening considerably until more than anything he just looked nonchalant. "I guess I might've said some pretty harsh stuff too."
"No shit!," Jin immediately exclaimed at that but then... realised that maybe that wasn't the most intelligent way to react and thus cleared his throat in a way to make it go away. Well, it -didn't- go away but... yeah. That was stupid.
"You and... Pi going out to eat tonight?," he quickly asked instead, before Ryo managed to make a remark on that comment just now. "Because if you are, I could... kinda... Tag along? Unless you two have dramas to do that is..." Why yes, he did feel just a -little- bit left out. Ryo did drama, Tomohisa did drama, Kazuya did drama - everyone did a goddamn drama -except- for Akanishi Jin. Fair and square? Not even close.
Ryo thought about that for a moment - though he decided quickly that Jin joining him and Pi today would be arguably better than Jin and Pi doing something alone and bad things happening. Ryo was smart like that, he preferred to be there to supervise because damn it was annoying when his friends went and screwed things up for themselves. That and afterwards, they were so bitchy. Best to avoid it altogether.
"If you promise to keep your buddy in your pants and not drool all over the table I'll consider inviting you along," he replied, his smirk giving away that he really was only joking this time.
"Oi!," Jin folded his arms and glared at Ryo for a couple of seconds. "I'm over -that- 'kay? Totally met a girl y'know."
... Okay so that wasn't true. Jin knew it wasn't true and Ryo probably could figure it out too - just by knowing Jin's personality. He wasn't over Tomohisa at all - but he knew how to deal with it and a girl? What girl had he had in mind when he said this? Well, to be completely honest he -had- had Aragaki Yui in mind but he wasn't really -seriously- considering her. Just that he had thought quite a lot about her today. When he hadn't been thinking of Ryo and the difficult word 'sorry', that is. But she was interesting! It was only natural that he'd think of her. At least he thought so.
Ryo shook his head, the smirk still residing over his features - any idiot could tell that -that- was a huge great big lie (or at least it seemed so to him), and he was pretty sure that Jin would know he knew.
"You're such a liar," he rebutted immediately, pretty damn sure that nobody could get over something like that -that- fast, even if Jin -had- met a girl. Which he probably hadn't even done because he was such a liar. But that was okay because at least there was someone around to know. "If you met a girl, what's her name, eh?"
Wait what? No, no, no that wasn't in the script. Script of life and all y'know? Ryo wasn't supposed to...
Jin sighed and looked around, still keeping his arms folded, before he eventually looked back. If he said 'Aragaki Yui' he -knew- that Ryo would probably laugh and ask him to get serious with her... Which he didn't want! He just... What the, this wasn't nice!
"Yu-Yui," he answered though, nodding slightly as though he agreed with himself. Which he -did- but it wasn't very normal to agree with yourself like that. Though, just by looking at Ryo it was easy to tell that there was no way he'd settle with just a first name that could belong to just anyone - even imaginary people.
"Ara... gaki Yui." ... "We've just met once... though, but still!" And that made it sound as if he was -aiming- for to... get together with her. Great Jin, really great.
Ryo blinked, surprised by that answer - Aragaki Yui and -Jin-? Hell no. No way. She was way too popular for one thing - sure Jin was more popular but didn't really popular girls tend to be super picky and stuff? Or maybe Ryo was just used to that kind of girl (hi Erika, we're looking at -you- right now).
"No way," he stated simply, raising an eyebrow at his friend. There was just no way he was willing to believe this even for a minute. "She's like half your age or something, ain't she?"
"Yeah," he replied and nodded with a sigh. That almost made him sound as if he was disappointed. What was this? He had other female friends and he didn't act like this with any of them - why was he being all like this just because... Well, it had to be because she was and -looked- young, she... didn't -act- young though.
"She's... turning 20 this year, she said," he sighed and tipped his head back to look up at the sky. "She's really interesting though - it'd be interesting to talk to her alone and not have a lot of people around, she seems like that kind of girl who has a lot on her mind but doesn't say anything unless she's asked to talk about it..." Looking back at Ryo, Jin grinned. "What? You don't think we'd make the most awesome couple ever?" That was -just- for fun, just so you know.
Ryo gave way to a short burst of laughter at that - he honestly couldn't see those two together, ever. Talking? Possibly. But like... going on dates and holding hands and saying 'I love you' and that kind of thing? The image just didn't fit in his mind. It was like trying to imagine pink grass. Absolutely absurd.
"What I think is that you'd look like a pedophile if you went out with her," Ryo announced in reply. "Maybe she's turning twenty but she still looks about sixteen."
"How do you think I -did- feel with all those kids barely 20?!," Jin asked at that, suddenly changing the subject simply because... well, because he -knew- that feeling already. "Shige asked me to tag along to this goukon and just... really. Teppei and Massu were there too but... really. That was just freaky, really..."
He shook his head slightly. That had been weird but that didn't make it much different - Yui was still an interesting person. He couldn't deny that no matter how old or young she looked. She seemed really down to earth and... she didn't really seem like the person who would go behind someone's back either. And all of this he could tell from just one meeting? ...Uhm, well. Yeah?
Ryo was about to say something when he was hit in the back of the head with something light but definitely -there-, and spun around with every intention of snapping at whoever had thrown it - but he didn't get even half a chance as there were already much louder soundwaves taking up all the air.
"Jin!," Tomohisa squeaked - yes, squeaked. Hyper? Yes. Very 'on' today, but nobody was complaining except Ryo a little bit but that was okay because Ryo complained about everything and he wouldn't be himself if he didn't and who wanted Ryo to not be Ryo? Nobody!
"Ryochan has to go back now~," he sing-songed, patting the smaller member on the head - an action that had Ryo immediately fix his hair and push at Tomohisa's shoulder as a sort of silent 'don't do that'. "But hi anyway! And I have to go too so bye as well! And now I need Ryochan!" He turned to Ryo and grabbed the older one's wrist. "Come on you! We have shooting to do~"
Ryo snatched his hand back and shot a dirty look at the crumpled up paper cup on the ground, which had obviously been thrown at him by none other than the very hyperactive Yamapi before him.
"Could you -not- squeal like a little girl? There are enough actual little girls in the world to be doing that."
"Oh hush," Tomohisa replied flippantly. "If you're late I'll get in trouble for not bringing you fast enough so come -on-!"
Ryo rolled his eyes and looked at Jin for a moment. "Catch you later, a'ight? Have fun with Yui."
Have fun with Yui? Have -fun- with Yui?! Jin blinked for a couple of moments before he once again thought that sentence; have fun with Yui.
"Shut up!," he thus called after Ryo and quickly grabbed the paper cup from the ground to throw it after the two NEWS members. Of course it didn't get there, but that didn't matter. What the hell did Ryo -think- when he said things like that?! ... That was it. He didn't. Explained everything. "Asshole..."
